Gotta hear the sweet sounds of the engine (and exhaust) when I'm drivin' hard, but when I'm just crusin' it's either Rock er Cuntree. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

I think that the ultimate far driving music is Offspring. I have a best of Offspring mix, americana, and smash. That is a great 3 hours of music on the interstate, and it seems like about 10 minutes. Plus, you're doin 110 without realizing it <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

Normally, for freeway driving, it's trance, freestyle, hardcore, and these neat video game music remixes. I also especially listen to Super Eurobeat. Hahahahahah! For those who don't know what that is, that's the techno music from Initial D with the corny lyrics.). damn Super Eurobeat. All that shit sounds the same, but I still listen to it anyway. It's like listening to 10 different songs being remixed 201480918 times. A lot of it consists of old American songs from the 80's being re-sung in "Engrish" along with some existing Japanese pop songs sung on "Engrish".
Avex Trax of Japan comes out with new volumes of this stuff every month. Avex usually takes songs from their featured artists on the label like Ayumi Hamasaki, Max, Globe, Move, etc., and remix their songs to "Eurobeat"-style, which they also have CD's of. There's even a video game for this music called "Para Para Paradise", which dorks line up to learn the Japanese Macarena-looking routines for each song. Unfortunately, there's a lot of guys playing this game. Now it's pretty much dead since that Para Para crap was just a fad. That's something interesting about the music from Initial D, huh? If I'm just cruising around at speed limit. I listen to hip-hop music. None of that "bling bling", flashy pop bullshit. I mean, REAL hip-hop like Aceyalone, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, The Pharcyde, Souls of Mischief, Blackalicious, old Mobb Deep, old Wu-Tang, old Nas (as well as some of his new stuff), old Big L, AZ, anything Jay-Z that MTV hasn't whored to death, Drunken Tiger. It sounds neat coming out of my sub. Hahahah. Nah, I don't try to look hard whenever I listen to this stuff at least.

depends on how/where i am driving, if i am in no hurry and around town i listen to a random radio station
cruising down the highway at a human pace, techno - keeps my mood right at ludicrous speed (they've gone plaid!<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> heavier stuff (for the 5 hour drives from northern VT to southern MA, that really only take 4) |

Daily driving... well doesn't really matter, rock, trance, classical.... but 2am in the morning, having some ricey ass civic with his loud ass exhaust pull up next to me at a traffic light... there is nothing better than power/thrash metal <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sly.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':sly:'> (and we got A BUNCH of those civics around my place)

best music to drive to whilst flying through backroads is electronic (LTJ Bukem). best music to listen to whilst driving around aimlessly, or in bumper to bumper traffic, metal. (Fear Factory, Black Sabbath, Ozzy) too bad i couldn't pick two, but i picked #1

Hmm kinda weird.. I always thought that metal was created for fast aggressive driving <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/whatsthat.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':whatthe:'> On the other hand I'm a thrash fan (Slayer, Overkill, In Flames) I like hard house djs, but they aren't getting there yet <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> |
