Sr20det wont stay running and bogs out
I just swapped a blacktop sr into my car and it will start up for maybe 5 seconds then dies and runs terrible
today I took the valve cover off and checked the cas and everything was good I cant check the timing because I cant get it to run long enough I also replaced the spark plugs and turned the car over while I had the plugs out in the coils and they are all firing and in the correct order so I know Im getting spark I ordered a z32 maf and it seems to be working but how do you know if the maf is good or bad? when I unplug the maf the car revs by itself to 4000 rpm then dies Any other suggestions? Im running out of Ideas here here is a short video of what it does Sr20det wont run - YouTube |

It's a stock motor haven't had it tuned as I just put it in and am trying to get it running properly. It has a z32 maf and other upgrades are just the regular swap things like intercooler greddy intake radiator etc..
I know it's getting fuel because I can smell it and one of the fuel lines was loose when I first started it and was leaking fuel all over the intake manifold and also I squeezed the fuel line and I can feel that it has pressure |

Yea. Since I had to get a new intake I figured I'd get the z32 maf with it. Does that cause problems on a stock motor?
I tried to see if the maf was bad so I unplugged it and it just revs super high then dies |

Ok so I can't run a z32 maf with the stock sr ecu then? I have a j4 ecu cause it's a type x blacktop. What do I need to do to the ecu to run a z32 maf? Would a tune work or do I need like an air fuel controller or something?

No I just have all my old parts from my ka. The swap came with motor tranny ecu harness and ignitor but no maf
The question now is would it be cheaper to get a tune or af controller or to buy a stock maf and different intake |

a tune is around 500 bucks depending on who you go to. you might even be able to buy an ecu already tuned for what you need. thats what i did when i bought my jwt ecu - it goes along completely with my build. but youre looking at close to 600 bucks for that route.

Your ecu is stock im guessing... in order to run a z32 maf you would have to get the ecu tuned to run the z32 maf. Now if your only upgrades are intercooler and maf, getting a tune is going to be more costly than just switching to a SR maf

Yea I might just buy an sr maf then but idk if it will fit with the greddy airnix intake that I bought
I bought a type x harness from wiring specialties so I think my wiring is good and the dash plug is connected |
