speedway only has two models available with IRS, the mini stock and the stock car.

I assume they use the stock car since they are high horsepower applications.

I looked that number up before I posted this and nothing came up. Im considering using this rear end on my FD, rather than spend the money on a kaaz..ect

looks like this is it but in parts. dont know where to buy it as a complete unit?

Have you asked Matt or Mike Kojima where they got them? I know that Dia is not running the K5840. The housing is magnesium and Mike said they were not running the mag. one just aluminum. I like the SR2838 with the inboard brakes. Page 6 of the Winters street rod catalog...yum.

That seems like a lot of money and trouble versus just getting a Kazz diff.

Page 8 of the catalog, Super modified rear end.

The 5840 you looked up is just the p/n of the casing.

No I havent. I dont really know them. If you can contact them and maybe guide them to this thread that would be cool. I like to know what it took to install one of these. The FD rear subframe is a whole lot different than an s-chassy, so I dont even know if I can pull it off. I still build and work around s-chassy's for local guys and Im wondering what it took to get these to work.

Yes and no. You figure a kazz might run you about $1k installed. This winters diff looks like it might run you about $2k if my figures are right. If you can have the ability to fab mounts for it I dont see how it would be a bad thing. Im building a dedicated track car and I see a lot of advantage using a quick change. Is it necessary? ofcourse not.

i've seen ppl use modified 930 axles, and DSS also makes a custom set of axles for it.
it is deffinately worth the investment. damn near bulletproof. and you can get just about any gear ratio you could ever need.
