thanks, yea we (us az supra guys) came up with that after having alot of those rubber caps from autozone failing. the one in the back of the head i will most likely use for my wastgate cooler line (tial mvr wastegate) and return it in the back of my water pump.

Correct me if I am wrong, but you do not need to put any sealant on these types of block plugs? I have some to install and wasn't sure if i needed to or not.

on the side of the head its a 1/4npt, you will need to drill it to size but its not too much material removal. be careful when drilling it because you'll want the hole as straight as possible or you could end up braking a tap off inside and you'll be sol

on the side of the block where the oil cooler line is its a 3/8npt, the fitting and threads are real close to 3/8npt but are much smaller in diameter and the thread pitch is the same so you'll just need to run the tap in till the fitting fits

in theory they seal on the taper but you should always use Teflon tape for a total seal and no leaks past the threads

small update on things...

painted my brake booster

slotted the motor mount slot bigger because im using a 1/2 bolt

on the motor

got a s13 front swaybar and a s14 rear swaybar

went over to autozone and picked these up

rear swaybar with new endlinks

little project im working on for the front swaybar endlinks
stock link

cut the joint off

squared it up in the mill

ran a die over it

before die and after die

stock vs new

with new bushings

i still need to make spacers to center the heim joint up so the spacing to the swaybar is right but thats to come

wish i had more to share but im still waiting on my shims :/

got some poly bushings off CL

did a quick coat of paint on the swaybar bushing mounts

tapped the back side of the head

got some ORB fittings for it (the 90 did work out kind of like i expected but i tried)

the -4 fitting is going to run to my wastegate then from the wastegate to the back side of the water pump

my wastegate, i running a newer tial that has the water cooling capabilities. i figured hey if it has the option why not try it out. from what i read it was made for autocross guys because they are "on" the gate alot.

thank you, i try my best to do everything on a professional level so the car doesn't have the "home built" feel to it, so when i tell people that i built it on the side of a house the get inspired.

update:

made the plate for the back of the water pump

went and got the fitting

got the rest of the manifold studs

all installed

cut the old TT water lines off the upper water neck

front swaybar all ready to go in

installed

endlinks

dAMN... Thats a really good idea you have for running the coolant into the wastegate... It eliminates that silly hardpipe and the heater hose madness at the back of the head.

How hard was it to remove the hose fitting that you tapped 1/4" npt? Im going to attempt it this weekend... any tips?

hey man sorry im just getting back to you, i used a 1/8npt on the side of the head (i know i said 1/4 but it is an 1/8)

i just used a pair of vise grips and heated up the alm around the barb before trying to pull it

update with some supper awsome machine work...

last saturday i went down to parker and picked up some fittings for my oil stuff

ill be running a wix not this filter just came with the kit when i bought it off someone

tapped another port and plugged it

wastegate cooling line routing, ill be picking up lines soon (most likely Thursday)

now the super awsome machine work everyone loves

so ive been wanting to do this for a bit now and finally had free time to make it. i needed window cranks for my windows but didnt feel like buying them because its a track car and thats money wasted in my eyes (20$ that can buy other things needed at this point in time). the idea first started form a buddy that said he try putting a 12point socket on there and see if it will work, well after trying all the sockets none worked...after thinking for a bit i thought i could just wire a peace that would fit and work with a socket size thats standard then no matter what they can go up and down...i first took a dental cast of the splines to figure out size, i then measured it on an optical comparator, after i got all my measurements i then drew a solid model of it and programed it for the wire edm at my work. the peace fits inside a 1/2 socket and can be used with a ratchet or drill (like ill be doing).

some people might think man it would have been easier to just buy handles but when your slow and board at work for 9hrs this was a win in my eyes. total time invested was less than 5hrs with measuring, modelling, programing, setup and run time on the machine.
