I dont' see 22-24 being over or outside the safe relm of the turbocharger. I plan on going 22ish psi with the meth for a dyno run or two to see what the old pig puts down.

I was told by a local garrett dealer that 22-23psi is pushing it on the gt2871r, also the GT30 carries the same shaft as these and should be ran no more than 22-23 as well.

25 is easily doable on a 3071r... its well within the compressor efficiency.

Just got Mine Dyno'd yesterday, no dyno chart yet I have to drive back to Al, since I couldnt get it tuned before I left (fucken UPS)

Yes and No, AC is all plumbed up and worked but I think my Exspansion Valve is stuck open

i also have a 2871r sr20 red top, i'm still on stock cams.
you jus made me wanna see what mine will put out on stock cams.lol only difference is i have apex 1.1mm, stock internals, Greddy Intake manifold, E-manage blue, i have no a/c or p/s. im jus waiting to get 740cc injectors. Last edited by S13 curtis; 01-02-2009 at 02:14 PM.. |

I have to say those are nice Numbers, especially with stock cams. However, i still can't believe it... Were these numbers from the 'Dynojet' ?
My car put down ~330whp with 302 wtq at 15-16 psi. Supporting mods include: S14 Kouki SR20DET Motor (stock bottom) GT28RS HKS Step 2 Cams 256in/264ex HKS Step 2 Valve Springs HKS 555cc injectors Peakformance Retainers Apexi 1.1mm Headgasket Splitfire Ignition System Z32 MAF Power FC SARD FPR RPS Max Street Clutch and all that other crap... Mind you my turbo is just a lil smaller than yours... Anyways, nice numbers. Steve.

I'm going to pretend that I didn't read your post 'S13 curtis' boosting over 18 psi on this turbo is just plain stupid and not to mention out of efficiency range.

Well boyz I just changed out my Fuel pump because it started screaming like crazy - Im hoping this fixes my previous problem of not being able to go past 15psi - because I noticed as the pump got worse the level of boost I could hit got lower and lower - Back to the dyno! O and nice numbers Sileighty 85 - thats sweetness man goodluck

I made 260whp and I *think* 248tq (don't have the graph next to me) at 16 psi. Does this seem low to anybody? It was on a Dyno Dynamics - I know its the heatbreaker dyno but I was just wondering.
s15 sr JE forged pistons HKS step 1 256/256 cams *Eliminated VTC* (was this a mistake? should I buy a 256 intake cam that I can put the VTC back on?) Stock exhaust mani 3in turbo elbow + dowpipe + exhaust *no cat* apexi FMIC sard 850cc's gt2781r .86 Questions: 1)Does this seem low? 2)would VTC make me see a bigger gain? |

I am thinking my piston rings could be blown. OR when I had the engine rebuilt the shop could have ordered different size CR on the JE pistons. BUT I don't think they messed up.

My motor is almost done(just need to install cams etc), and I cant wait to drop this bitch in the car. I also have a spare block I am going to get hot tanked, honed, re-surfaced, for a more agressive setup later after my driving skill improves.

Here are my dyno sheets. My compression is 140/130/140/140, so my second cylinder is a little iffy. I put some oil in it and it went up to like 180+.
