S13 KA24DE Into S14 Swap Questions/Help Needed
Hey fellow Zilvians,
Not sure if this is where I should post this, but if it's not, hopefully the mods can move it and help me out. I've done some searching over the past couple weeks and I'm reading a whole bunch of different answers. Anyways, onto the story… I'm tackling my first engine swap this weekend because my 95 S14 KA took a shit on me. Previous owner said he used to "drift" it, got so sideways that the motor ran dry then it developed this huge, agonizing knock . It's pretty clean and I got it for $1300 so I didn't really care about the motor. My new motor that I was just able to pick up last weekend for super cheap is a KA24DE out of a S13. Runs great, only has about 130k miles on it (as opposed to the 187k on my S14 KA) and has all the EGR/emissions crap deleted. My BIGGEST question is how am I supposed to get everything working correctly/swapped properly so it will start up and run perfectly first try? I know I need to swap the S14 intake manifold and S14 distributor to the S13 motor to start, and that I need to swap throttle bodies. BUT, I've also read that some people say I need to swap exhaust manifolds, MAFs? I need to remove the valve cover, turn the crank and time the dizzy? What? I'm just looking for all the correct answers in one place so I can get this thing swapped properly and have a good running basis to get this thing sliding properly Any help is appreciated and I apologize if this is a n00bi3 question. Thanks! |
