Look at my cyl. walls

So about a year ago I had an SR in my car, and there was a few days where it was like monsoon weather, and at the same time my cheapo oil filter decided to work itself loose. So I ran my engine with no oil. I FAIL.

I took the motor out and shoved it in a corner. Now a year later I go exploring. The cams had alot of metal shavings on them. When I took the head off I was expecting alot worse but it doesn't look so bad in the cylinder walls. Just want some expert opinion.

I hope to core out the head, and re-bearing the block, new rings, hone the walls?

thanks for looking.

Just because you still see cross hatching on the walls does not mean they are still good.

Over time the cylinder wall become uneven like \ / or / \ so you need to bore and hone the wall to get them straight again like | |

and with all those metal shavings inside the cylinder im sure it is not helping. (if it was there prior to pulling the head)
I actually see some scorring on the walls.

I'd be worried about what your crank and bearings look like.

But yeah get the block checked, Bored and honed for new oversized pistons

Dont cut corners with internals. The motor is out, get it bored and rebuild the bottom end.

is that just dirt on the top of the piston (not the carbon - the crumbs) or is that metal shavings?

i would at least get it honed - boring .020 might be the way to go tho (so u never have to do it again)
