Drift Sedans
I have a track only s13 coupe that only gets driven at track events. I would love to drive my car on the street but would get pulled over and definitely get reffed.
I have another car which is another 2 seater and impractical which got me thinking about replacing my s13 with something more practical with 4 doors that I could still slide around at events. The only Japanese RWD 4 door manual cars that come to mind that are 00' + are: -Lexus IS300 -Infiniti G35 Sedan Anyone slide around a g35 sedan or is300 before? I only know of RiskyDevil's is300 and I heard that the is300s are hard to slide without aftermarket suspension arms which are not readily available. I am also interested in the g35 sedan since I had a 350z before. Any opinions, options, feedback?

is300 has electric speed sensative steering. Might take a little to get use to.

Once you build more power than that, you would want to look into the r154 option, but only after you have Marlin upgrade the thrust washer cover (r154 weak point). V160 would be cool, but pricy.

There arent a lot of Options like there is in Japan. I would LOVE to own a jzx100, they come turbo and manual stock. I'm kinda in the same boat as you, i want a 4 door daily that i can also slide, and i do not want to start swapping shit since my coupe has plenty to swap out. I would drive a cressida, but those are pretty old and 7m motors are poopy. Had one cressida in my life, headgasket blew, haha.

I <3 my Town Car. It's a comfy ride with enough power to have some in. Plus the fact that there is a decent aftermarket support makes it even better.

Why the fuck are you all talking about shitty cressidas and jdm cars when he specified that he wants something close to a year 2000 car and something that is LEGAL.

BMW 540i, V8, 280hp (more like 300), 320 tq, 6spd. same engine in my 740 and it hauls pretty good. plus the 540 is ~600 lbs less. theres cheap coils for em, only bad/hard thing is to get a good differential.

I had a Cressida, they are really fun cars. Very comfy too. Just know if you drift it, the stock 5MGE's and 7MGE's are headgasket-blow happy. Plus you'd probably want to do a 1jz swap anyway. They don't come manual in the states, so you'd have to do the r154 swap on them anyway. So you can probably rule out Cressida's.
I really love the is300 and wanted to get one for awhile now. I say go with the is300. It's perfect for daily, and looks like just fun enough to have a great time at the track with some minor mods! I don't think I've ever seen a g35 sedan drifting, I know I've seen plenty of coupes though |

Specifically asked for Japanese Sedans that are the year 2000 and newer that are street legal that came manual. Of course I would love to build a 600+hp GS with a 2jz-gte but I definitely dont need another money pit. I tried the whole buy a daily and have a track car but it just doesnt work for me because I get bored so easily. I understand the financial part but of drifting a luxury sedan but to me it really wouldn't be any different from drifting the 350zs that I used to have. Maybe I will just have to get a 350z again.

Is the g35 sedan basically a 350z but heavier? Does anyone know if they share the same suspension/arms as the coupe?
