Question sr20det pistons questions

so I bought a sr20det notchtop that I'm gonna rebuild. it was already bored over by .50mm. stock size is 86mm right? so I would need 86.50mm pistons right? what brand should I look into?

Well firstly all machine work is usually measured in standard rather than metric, so make sure its actually .50mm over and no .050" over.

86mm is the stock bore size.

Once you verify the size then you'll know what size piston to buy, so for example a block bored to 86.50mm would take 86.50mm pistons.

As far as brands go it's mostly person preference, but these are usually based on budget. As far as my opinion and my opinion as a Mazworx employee I'd recommend going with CP pistons which will set you back about $650 give or take where you buy from and the mark up, I want to say our sets retail for $635. We use CP in every build that we do from stock rebuilds to our 1400hp drag car.

Manley H-Beam rods are $10 more than Eagles and you'll get a much better product. If you want you can email me at [email protected] and I'll get you an estimate on a package.

Last time I did a build I got CPs and Manleys for a good package deal. It was about $875 shipped. Wasn't from Mazworx but I'm sure they'll hook you up
