ebay coilovers and kyb gen 2 gas shocks

Ohk, I have a problem. I bought some coilovers on ebay and trying to install them onto my kyb gen2 gas shocks. I notice that it is different from the aftermarket struts/shocks in the front because it has like a big shield/plate on the strut. When we installed them in the front the springs were not stable. why? Does anyone know how to fix the problem?

It's because you bought eBay "coilover" sleeves.

Those aren't really meant to be used on the struts as they are.

You are supposed to cut down the "shields", which is where the springs would have sat on, and only leave like a tab or something for the sleeves to sit on.

Look up the installation instructions on Ground Control coilover sleeves, should be the same principle.

Next time, don't cheap out and buy that crap.
