Hell the Harbor freight compression tester works as well as he AZ one. But, if you are low on funds the rental from the parts store is free.

I thought they make you pay for the value of the tool?

You rent it and they charge you and you get a refund once you return it. I bought both a cylinder leak down and a compression tester from harbor freight, honestly have only used each tool maybe 2 times. Some tools you use more often but unless you are constantly building motors or tearing them apart you won't use these 2 tools all the time.

Looks like you need a new coolant reservoir too, looks a bit corroded, radiator too. 89-90 were the single cam years, then dual cam till 98'. This is a case of false advertisement, and failure to check the vehicle before you bought it.
