it does it during in town driving just put the motor in this car new thermostat seems to be circulating fan kicks on and off no antifreeze in oil if anyone could help it would be great thanks

Make sure that you didn't put the thermostat in upside down. I made this mistake before and I had an overheating problem. Took forever to figure it out.

my maxima went in backwards but when i took the old one out it had the long end going in which way was yours

I tell post on here the pics from the manual if you can tell me which engine you have (KA or SR)?

Check to make sure that your resevoir is full. Mine was empty and I replaced the thermostat, flused the system only to find out that I just had to fill the resevoir or overflow.

when it gets warm, are BOTH upper AND lower coolant hoses to the radiator hot? If one is, and one isn't then there is no flow. T-stat failure, backwards, air pocket, water pump bad, something like that is amiss.

I had overheating problems with my KA-T, seemed to overheat whenever it wanted, tried everything! then i bought a KOYO aluminum radiator. the 2 1/2" core cooled things down, stock core is just a little over 1/2" (it sucks) havent overheated once!

Mine seemed like it was overheating a few months ago and it just happened to be an old crappy bypass hose that you could barely see. It was getting hot and venting out steaming water (as you can imagine) which made it appear that it was overheating.

buy a koyo, get better fans, fill reservoir
