The Literature Thread
Haven't seen one of these posted. If I overlooked it, point me in the right direction!
I have a lot of free time at work. I enjoy reading during that free time and was curious as to what some of you guys are reading or have read before that you might like to share. I'm currently reading Kurt Vonnegut's 'Slaughterhouse-Five' and enjoying it so far. Probably be done in a few days so I need some new material for the upcoming days. Share. Comment. Etc |

I am reading a lot of Stephen King's older novels. "It" by far is my favorite, with "Salem's Lot" coming in at a close second.

Im usually reading a couple different books at the same time, & I don't always get around to finishing everything.
Reading 'The Denial of Death' (ernest becker) on & off. it is terribly depressing but also a fascinating read. I'm always reading psychology themed books for my grad studies. past few that I enjoyed, all of them are easy to read even if you're not that academic. 'Love's Executioner' great existential themed therapy book that's easy to get into even from a layman's perspective 'The boy who was raised as a dog' looks at the effects of trauma in child development 'prisoner of hate' looks at how we're wired to behave aggressively from a cognitive behavioral perspective. just done reading the sci-fi 'Hyperion' (Dan Simmons) series. was an entertaining read. for trashy fiction I'm always reading something from the Warhammer 40k series. Well I already mailed you testicle hairs. So, there's that.
I remember reading some very limited Kierkegaard passages in some Philosophy class, I may have to give it a gander.

"The Kite Runner" is a very captivating read. When your finished read "A Thousand Splendid Suns", if you haven't already. I am currently reading "In the Garden of Beasts" by Erik Larson.
