How Far Into the Trip Odometer Have You Put The Needle?

That's it, how far have you put the speedo needle into the trip odometer? I'm working on some gauge faces for a freind that frequents here. I wanted to make marks at least to 120 if not 130 to let you guys know how fast you're going. If you guys don't go much past 130 I can leave it at that or go up to 160. Will the needle actually make it all the way to the odometer?

You just can't make gauge faces with a higher max MPH on them and expect the needle to read correctly.

Like for the 91-94 that I'm working with now. I'm not going to change the 110 MPH to something higher. I'm going to add lines or "tick" marks past the 110. I know when the needle goes past the 110 mark it may not read as accurate as it should but it won't be off that much. I know in my old 89 MX-6 Turbo I had it up to 125 once and up to 120 on an old 90 Corolla a few times. When I'm done with the speedo (I'm working on it right now) I'll post a picture so you can see what I mean. I already finished the tach. Notice how it goes to 8500 instead of 8000 RPM?

Oh, nevermind. I get it, you're just going to add more "lines" to the stock ones.

I cant get it to the odometer, If I could i would shudder to think how fast i would be going.. ive got it to 245kph neerly 250kph on video and it was pretty damm quick chasing down a Opel Calibra 2.2L turbo on a nice empty 4 lane wide National road (like the autobahn)

2-3 days later I discovered my one rear tire is actualy de-laminating, SOOO if you ever plan to speed stupid speeds like that, make sure your tires are in perfect condition and are rated to go that fast!!!

Tires that exceed their rated speeds can't deal with the added heat and rotational forces. This nearly always destroys the tire in the short-run, but can also destroy the tire immediately, resulting in high-speed blowout. I don't advise anyone pass their tire rating. I have been known to hit 130 frequently on I-75.. so I only run z-rated tires.
