Touge kouki build

I finally decided to build my car from the ground up like I've always wanted to. The car was great before but I wanted to change it completely. I mainly run the local roads around here and plan to attend the Chasing the Dragon Hillclimbs if I can get it done in time.

For now I'll post a short version of the car as I bought it about 4 years ago, the last state and it's current state as unfinished. I am hoping to have it finished within the next month.

I bought the car about 4 years ago to be my DD as an automatic KA SE with basic upgrades like KW coils, Q45 brakes, HKS exhaust etc.

I borrowed the KF's from my VH 45 coupe and bought an OEM lip.

From there swapped to stance coils and converterd to manual. Then came across an s13 blacktop SR in a junkyard thanks to a friend. After that I decided to go full JDM aero etc.

For now I'll post a couple photos of the car in it's various stages and a mod list before I started this build.

I finally had to let go of my s13 after ten years together, I couldn't do two unfinished projects anymore. I sold her to a good friend of mine who I knew would take care of her. I also sold my VH45 swap so I could dump every last dime into this project.

I even sold my camera so I apologize in advance for the crappy instagram pictures.

Finally onto the good stuff. I refuse to make my car look too lame in the name of performance so fixing my geometry was my main concern. PSM front knuckles, rack eccentric bushings, diff bushings, Driftworks rear knuckles so I can retain factory ebrake, Nismo lsd, new clutch hydraulic system because mine was acting like a fgt, the oem 300zx slave worked wonders for my pedal feel.

Still working out my alignment specs but here are some before pictures.

Looking sweet so far!
Have to say, I'd probably rather see the coupe get fancier but I have much faith in you making any s-chassis cooler haha.

Still has to look cool so I bought some JDM headlights finally and some decent looking corners.

Now if my aero would just arrive I would be good to get her ready for paint. I'm still in search of a cool hood and some ganadors!

Looking like it's going to be another month plus before I get my aero from GTRGarage. Less than pleased about this but not much I can do until then besides more boring upgrades.

Temporary fixed my driveshaft center bearing so I took her for a quick run tonight. Here's a crappy Instagram video of what I do every weekend.
https://instagram.com/p/1ws8FwEZMl/
Had to put her away before my axles self destruct. Nismo diff, solid bushings and new axles going in ASAP.

Touge kouki build

New tension rods on and fresh alignment. Pulled a little camber out front and rear and shortened my rear traction rods. Sway bars next so I can get it back to being able to throttle steer it.
Video of a full run, noise is from how I mounted the camera.
<iframe width="1280" height="720" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/05x_UGdfiA0?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Not sure why the video won't embed.

Nothing worth seeing, still waiting on my aero so it's ugly. I might pull it out of the shop wash it and take a few tonight.

Thanks Corry! I've been busy but I finally have time to update it. I'll make it short and sweet since there's nothing really exciting yet.

Put my SPL TC rods on.

Went to do my extended studs for the rear and ended up ripping my rear end out and doing my solid diff bushings.

Still haven't had time to setup the Nismo diff. I killed my vlsd in the mountains this past weekend so I'll be putting it in soon hopefully along with new axles.

Video of the noise before it got really bad on the way home.
https://flic.kr/p/rSuK6h

My a/c belt shredded itself so I replaced it and recharged the system. What racecar doesn't have a/c?

I cut up my altima fans for a cleaner look and foam taped everything to improve cooling. Shrouding from the intercooler to condenser/radiator will be next.

Did something cool with my rear overs. S14's are shaped stupid so now I have the same clearance front and rear, plus they match my front fenders!

More cool stuff.

And a random iphone photo I took before hitting the mountains.

Thumbs down

Had a major setback today.. Plowed into the back of a stopped minivan on the way to SoWo.

Got both my headlights, right corner light and fender, hood, grill, intercooler, a/c condenser, fans, etc.

There are more suitable overs like Chargespeed for OEM aero IMO. Unless you plan on adding other aero bits like splitter, canards, diffuser etc.
