KA24DE Rear Main Leak
Hey guys, I've got a slow leak coming from my rear main. I changed the seal when my transmission was out, but it's still weeping a little bit of oil. I bought one of those speedi sleeves, but can't find any solid information on installation. I got the National sleeve, part # 99315. Any help would be appreciated.

you may have installed it incorrectly, if the lip is facing outwards, it will not seal properly.. if you have a lightweight crank pulley, the vibrations can cause the seal to screw up. it could be your transmission front seal, leaking tranny fluid, are you sure its engine oil?.. the valve cover could be leaking in the rear, making it look like the rear main seal is leaking... there are a lot of different leaks that could be right there, what makes you think its the rear main?

I know it's the rear main. My valve cover is bone dry; the leak is between the oil pan and tranny; it's not transmission fluid, it's definitely motor oil. Little thing called a dip stick tells me that I'm losing oil. Car is bone stock. Rear main was already leaking when I took my transmission out, hence why I replaced the seal. It was seated properly, but I could feel a slight groove on the crank. I was hoping that a new seal would contain the leak, but that's obviously not the case. That's why I went ahead and got a rear main sleeve.
