quick question about ground to mafs
ok i actually think i found out what was wrong with my car. i have a weak ground coming from the ecu to the mafs. i bought a new one just in case. would it be ok if i were to just ground the wire that is suppose to be the ground on the mafs somewhere else or does the computer need to see a ground?

I used to run my old KA with the MAF ground spliced and just hooked up to chassis ground. It ran better with that setup.
Make sure your ecu is also bolted in so that the casing for it is grounded.

hey thanks a lot for that. i will do that ^
but i think i have another problem. when i was checking for voltage on my ecu i wasnt getting any to the ecu powers. only the ecu backup power. and know for some reason my fuel pump doesnt turn on. i poped the eng cont fuse earlier but i replaced it with one that is close to the same. it was off of a junkyard 240 but it looked a little different. is that the problem |

i really dont know how it started. i guess now its getting power since i switched the egi and egi pump relays out.didnt see power when i initially swiched them but when i pluged in the ecu it ran. shitty though. it cant even idle anymore??

ok i just did a test. i unpluged my mafs and afc neo and the car ran perfect 14.8. i plugged in the mafs and i ran rich. when all are plugged in the car cant idle. what does this mean. could it be i blew my iacv when i popped the c/b?

i just checked and there both are wired good. the reason i think it is the iacv is because there is a b/w wire that connects the maf b/w, iacv b/w and the ecu power all in one. so when i shorted the mafs, i could have shorted the iacv since there is no fuse for it. and when i unplug the mafs my cars goes into limp mode and the iacv doesnt send a signal anyways. does this make sense.

hey thanks a lot Z U L8R. youve really helped me out a lot. and to who ever said the mafs can be grounded to a chasis ground is wrong. the ecu sends different signals through the ground for the mafs so ground at all times is bad and i probably messed up another mafs
