any sc300 guys?
alright... i've been looking lately for a good daily that i wont always want to tear it up in. But at the same time be able go to an event and have fun.
its come down to a sc300, you can find them for around 5k in my area and parts seem to be avaliable (susp, engine, ext) for the cars. But i'm not sure if they are as good as they seem to be, oem they are suppose to run a 15.6 i believe and i would look into a stock 2jzgte swap with bpu's(400whpish) or just possibly do a good na-t setup i just wanted to ask for other peoples opinions on them and if they are good cars, or if i should shy away from them... and if so, what else is rwd... 5/6 speed man and a decent aftermarket support. thanks |

you should ask this question on a toyota/lexus fanbased site dude, you're asking a bunch of nissan nuts about a fuckin toyota, probably not gonna get a whole lot of favorable responses. As far as the SC, I have a little knowledge cause I'm a car lover of all varieties. Will you be getting a V6 or V8 variety? That is going to dictate whether you can get an auto or stick. To my knowledge the V8s never came in a 5 speed in the states. If you didn't know already, the lexus sc300 is also the toyota soarer elsewhere so you can go ahead and search that out yourself. As far as the 2jz supra swap, go for it, good luck finding a 5 speed for that too.

Yeah agree with what ltdnismoracer4 said. There's plenty of toyota/lexus forums you just gotta do work and search them and I'm sure you'll find alot of answers to your question. Try google it does wonders. GL with it though. I'd rock the sc if I had the extra money.

Clublexus is a pretty good site. Most of the guys on there are all about chrome rims and navigation systems and stuff, but there's a few performance guys on there with some good info to share. If you plan to go turbo, check out clubna-t.

SC300s are all I6. There is no such thing as a V6 in a SC-chassis, and the V8 is the SC400. I say do it dude, they're sexy and, as long as they're nice, have the ability to pull bitches.

eh dunno him.. i stopped really keeping up with IA about 2 yrs ago.. way to much BS goin on.. stolen cars/parts.. shady people etc rather just stay clear of it all.
to the original poster.. theres a lot of hidden costs my buddy ran into with not being able to get 6spd 2j. Ended up having to source a mk3 tranny/flywheel/clutch/driveshaft.. so if ur seriously gonna 2j a SC have money up front and buy the 6spd set up, be happy with an auto, or have extra funds to source the other parts to put in the 5spd.. |

I heard that about IA, I'm hardly their anymore either.
See, I'm not the only one who has seen others search and search for a manual 2J tranny

thanks for the help, and i looked through clublexus and didnt know if there was a better place... all about "bling" idk
as for the 2jz... i'd keep the 5 speed thats in it and do a slight boost to it... gt3576 or something like that... i've been around built supra's... but never bothered with large mods. thanks for the help from the people that did... and i would rather ask 240 people than people who think that if it doesnt have leather it isnt a real car |
