Anyone know a place where to get a one piece steel drive shaft?
Also it looks like all the companies for the engine mounts are either out of business (myjzswap), not working (dm-spec), have bad reviews (zerolift, even though i got my 1jz from them and had no problems) or are out of my price range (tech 2). So that leaves me with Turbo Dave, does anyone know anything about these other than the desription? review on mounts/ company? i've never heard of them till now. pictures? |

^ I did see those, I'm just always a little skeptical about ebay parts.
Also emailed the driveshaftshop and they make a once piece steel for the r154 trans and its the same price as a ka/sr drive shat. |

So instead of spending 500 bucks on a Taiwan vvti manifold I've decided to mod a non vvti for less than half the price. I plan on cutting the non vvti off at the runners a couple inches before the exhaust flange, cutting out a vvti flange and attaching the two.

There are no secrets its all in the wiring diagram you have to know how to read that before and then you will know how to do your harness. That shows where you need power switched or constant power everything you need to know.

Nice write up. I have a 1j in my 98 240sx and having issues with cooling when i have the AC on. When it heats up im simply turn the AC off and im back to normal. I have dual fans pulling through a mishimoto radiator. The 1j has about 60k miles on it roughly. Stock temp guage as well. Anything I should try? Adding more fans? Last thing i wanna do is vent my hood. Thanks.

yea i was thinking of putting one on the condenser. Not sure how much room I have in there though. Should I put it in the front or in the back pulling through to the radiator? Would I have battery problems running 3 or more fans?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
The R154 transmission didn't originally come off the 2jz? I see a lot of people swapping the tranny housings with a 1jz housing. Why is that? Then you have to use a 1jz flywheel, but still can use a 2jz clutch kit? |

I would love to see someone else that car verify if this would work or not. As there are a few other JZ-S13/S14 cars coming out it would be nice to have diagrams.
Yeah, Pretty shitty what has come of the 2 differant JZ Swap sites. Thanks Deftec. means alot hearing that from someone who has been into JZ-S-Chassis since the beginning it seems. You got your built motor/bigger turbo now? any more info/videos?

Nothing really as of recent. The #6 bearing was starting to fail in the engine the last time I took it to the track. Ran a 13.1 @ 107mph. 1.9 60'. So I pulled the motor with just the intention of adding some bearings and throwing it back in, but ended up going overboard.
.020 over pistons 1mm over intake/exhaust valves, springs, retainers 272 cams t78 turbo 100 shot(still awaiting installation) AEM 2 -10an lines to a boost logic rail, 1000cc injectors, AEM pump, fuel cell Kind of went overboard, but it'll be a fun as hell car lol. I don't have video of it running yet, but should have some video/track vids by next weekend if they get it tuned in time. This is the most recent pic I have of it from last month. I'll do a full thread on it once I get the car back. Most of the wiring has been cleaned up. The shop doing it has done a ton of rewiring/fixing some minor issues with it. Sorry to thread jack lol. As for the sites, yes, it's quite shitty and VERY stupid what Sean has done to people. Someone really needs to step in and start doing this shit that is known for good customer service. Ah well, such is life, and maybe someday we'll have a book full of excuses lol.
