Party politics aside he hasn't really done anything to impress me. He is a good speaker and seems more personable than most presidents but that is about it. IMHO Clinton was a better president...although his choices in women O did get points with me when he called Kanye West a jackass lol.

but (as tempting as it may be) he isn't responsible for all the national misfortunes during the past decade.

The war in Iraq is a valid criticism,
but I recommend you do some research on the other topics.

think its a bit early to say whether or not this presidency is a good one.

Think he's doing a good job with improving int'l relations with Russia & North Korea.
The North Korean incident was handled well.
His approach towards leaving Iraq is reasonable.
Pressuring Chevy/Chrysler into restructuring was better than empty handouts.

I'm skeptical of all the spending for the most part.
I don't think Afghanistan will work out.
I'm not a fan of the health care bill.
I don't like the fact that he's scrapping the missile program in Eastern Europe.
Hate his plan of taxing companies/ppl making more than 250k/annual.
Don't his foreign policy towards China with taxing the tires & steel.
I don't care for him endorsing Ben Bernanke for the Fed.
I don't think he has a chance in hell of reuniting both parties, given his policies veer to the far left in general.

With the insignificant stuff, I think he gets himself involved unnecessarily in petty affairs.
Yes, Kanye is a jackass, but as a the President, is unfitting to get involved with celebrity drama.
Same deal with the way he handled his professor friend getting harassed by some cop.
He is the President, not Oprah.
He is a good speaker and charismatic I agree.
For better or worse, it's been less than a year.
It not fair at this point to say if he's doing a good job or bad.

Also figure he (and the Fed) doesn't have 100% control over the economy.
Unemployment is still increasing, albeit at a smaller rate.
The stock exchange is recovering.
His approval ratings, are slipping.
Ppl want instantaneous results in the economy, but that's not going to be realistic.

I would have preferred to see a more moderate democrat or independent prez,
but apparently the American public (or I should say the Midwest AKA the ppl who gave Bush a 2nd term) wanted otherwise in last year's Democrat primaries.

He has been in office for 9 months, and I don't think things changed very much, hopefully they will get better. I think you gotta cut the guy some slack. when bush got into office the economy was fine Clinton made it that way, then Dubya comes in and amasses a debt larger than all of the presidents before him combined! and you think in 9 months he will fix it? get the fuck outta here. no way, this isnt pregnancy.

Before being elected, lower taxes, more freedomes, better quality of life, after being elected, raise them taxes, turn them shits up! give me your freedoms, fuck your quality of life. It may not be that exagerated but most politicians flip the script after they are elected. for the record I did not vote for mcCain or Obama.
