I am running a 1200w kenwood 401m and ken kdcx817, viper 600, and I have a 1 farad cap, with an electric fan.  I think this is going to kill my alternator eventually.  So does anyone know where I can get a biger alternator that fits a 95 240sx.

Retrofit a GM alternator, orrrrr, what the #### do you need a 1200W stereo system for?  The engine should be the music.

i ahve the same problem with my 1600W amp and a 400w amp
for my 1990 240sx

and my engine is the music when i am racing or running it hard, or else my exhuast is annoying on a long road trip.....
(love the sound of my intake and exhuast)

They make performance alternators for big systems like mine. I saw one for around $200 but i'm not sure if it would fit our car. I suggest getting a deep cycle battery, like an optima. Look around in some car stereo magazines, i've seen some ads for them. hope that helps

i got one of those but that does not cure your ampage problem......
