s14 power lock problems
the power locks on my 95 s14 havent been working since i bought the car. when i press unlock or lock i can hear the relay(or what ever it is under the dash) click, but the locks dont move at all. this happens with both switches the driver and passenger. what could it be?? that relay is bad?? the actuators??

Pull the door panels, check for signal at the door lock motor. It's the gray 2pin plug on the bottom side of the motor, near the bottom outside corner of the door, wires are blue and white/blue IIRC. They should both rest at ground but trigger 12V when locked or unlocked (one per wire). If the module is clicking then both switches work and you're getting a switch input to it, so it's likely the unit is fine. It also serves the functions of the key warning buzzer, domelight, and rear defogger timer, are all those working?

Correct. Though it's rare for both to go out, if everything else works then they have to be bad.

I have a question on the same topic. My passenger side door lock switch works, but the driver side doesn't lock the doors and it doesn't make the clicking sound. Do you think I need to replace the whole driver side switch or is it something inside the door panel?
Thanks in advance.

Check for output at the switch. Light green/white and brown, negative trigger.

On the bottom of the actuator, facing inwards towards the hinges. It's a 4pin (I forgot about the two empty slots) plug but only two wires, unless your car is a 95 model, then it will also have two smaller gauge wires, black and yellow/green, they're for the OE alarm. The larger two are the ones you want, blue and white/blue.

i have a 97 LE.
usually when you turn the key on the doors lock automatically and when you turn the key off the doors unlock. it quit doing that but the power door locks still operate from the door switich. all the fuses seem fine. |

That's not an OE design, the doors only lock with the switch from the factory. Sounds like your car maybe had an aftermarket add-on to lock with the key or an alarm of some kind. No way to tell without getting into the door and seeing what's not original.
