Q45 lsd swap q's
im wanting to swap my diff in my '95 s14 for a Q45 diff. i want the lower gear ratio tht is in the Q45's. i was trying to find out if the Q45 diff. is a straight swap with my non-abs s14 diff. is there any modifications at all when swapping for the q45?

This is from a for sale thread i came across a while back. I wouldn't run that with a ka/sr/ca/rb though. The ratio would SLOW you down, but increase gas mileage and top speed.
1992 Q45 Differential 3.54:1 Ratio 1992 Q45 LH Axle 1994 Z32TT LH Axle 1992 Q45 5-lug Hubs All Axle nuts/bolts/washers/etc. This is everything you need to bolt in this R200 with the larger, stonger TT style axles in your 5-lug 240SX. |

'97-'01 Q45 VLSDs are what your looking for. You just need J30 axles to make it work.
Won't even bother with the earlier Q45s unless you want to change out your hubs as well.

sorry to open this back up. I just need some clarification.
I plan on using the z32tt/q45 axles and q45 diff. My question is will that fit into the stock s14 knuckles(uprights)? or do i have to use the TT or q45 knuckles. I know without using the axles they are to short or long regardless. But again if I am using the axles and hubs will they fit into the stock s14 knuckles? No one ever mentioned this or asked this question. i searched. |

If I recall right, the older (pre-97), you must use the tt/q45 axles along with z32/q45 hubs.
The 97+ you can use j30 axles, which can fit the stock s-chasis hubs. My set up consist of 97 diff 95 axles flanges Z32 tt driver axle Q45 driver axle Q45 hubs. You must also redrill your driveshaft flange. |
