Got my strut bar somewhat done finally after being distracted by a bunch of other projects. I'm still going to triangulate it when my other non-ABS S13 comes out from winter storage, this is just on my winter beater. ABS unit gets in the way so i cant get it mocked up yet.
Some of the welds are sloppy, I know. Edit, also made this up a while back for shits and giggles, might paint the gauge ring to make it look more factory.

I've been wanting to make my own strut tower bar for a long time. What'd ya use for the "over-engine" part? Just bent hollow tubing?

Well it seems like we have fixed the crankcase breathing issue that high hp sr20s have. It wouldn't hurt to have an additional breather though.

Managed to get some work done today
Boxed in a couple spot on my subframe. Any other weak spots on an S13 subframe that need attention? I have to include the infamous "Burning bushing" pic, lol And made up a couple Jigs to make ajustable toe and traction rods.

Are those the only two spots you braced too? Their the only spots I could imagine flexing.
Looks like it turned out awsome being painted. How has the paint stood up to chips and debris? Or have you been too busy with paint to even drive it (awsome work btw), lol? I'm gunna get it blasted and powercoated soon.

Yea, those are the only two spots, I imagined the movement of the suspension and thought those would be the most highly loaded under a lateral load.
As for rock chips believe it or not after so many years it still is looking like new, ive gone off track in to the gravel and rocks a bunch of times too.

Dude. Thats not considered a cheap bender. That is the industry standard, and the exact one that I use at my shop. It works very well, and you can upgrade it later to hydro if you want.
Got mine in Sacramento at KCKM motorsports Luke

Here's some sweet cage work I did the other day.
S14 cat hump delete. S14 hoop. Mig welding some plates and boxes down. God I hate mig. I usually tig everything. Halo. Front a pillar tubes through dash. Double boxed mounts all around. Offset X door bars= easy to get in and out of car. Some tig fun. Sound deadening tips. 1.Get dry ice pellets. 2.Let sit and freeze 12-15 mins. 3.Hit with hammer. 5. Remove huge pieces. 6. take any left over dry ice and dump it in the toilet.

soo..
i just sat and read all 41 pages, and i must say that this is, without a doubt, the BEST thread on Zilvia. hands down..phenomenal job, gentlemen. i'm literally astounded at the quality of work on here. and there i was, thinking everyone on Zilvia was a complete ass..lol well done. you guys have made me seriously want some cage action going on in my car. (and AN lines in my engine bay running to my custom-made catch can, which is mounted to my inner fender tubs. both of which are accented by my custom front strut bar complete with BMC stopper.) for real. well done. this thread makes me excited. subscribed!

Thanks everyone. Here is how the S14 cage and stuff turned out. A formula D legal car, with working Heater, stock cluster, power windows, stereo, etc.
We were able to do this cage without removing the windshield. That is why the gusset is 1 sided. We built the whole car in 4 days. Including the cage, suspension, engine, ect.
