To be honest I have no idea what kind of difference it makes, I was already balls deep in the motor so I figured I'd throw another couple hundred bucks at it to get rid of the crusty old one..

I sent you a PM regarding your setup. I'm looking to do something similar with a 7163 though and an OEM manifold.

I thought they were all the same size externally? Is the 6258's comp housing smaller than the 6758's? Im wondering if tge 6258 will have a better chance clearing the block on a KA than tge 6758, which is apparently too large. Couldnt find any info on borg warners site..

![]() I made this comparison from BW's web-site of the 7163 vs. 6758. The dimensions not listed are the actual widths of the compressor/turbine housings. I know RalliartRsX has actually owned both of these so I've asked him to share what the differences are? I also e-mailed BW/a few other companies about this as all of their posted dimensions are exactly the same for the T-25 housing models. The only difference being the .64 AR (6758) v.s. .85 AR (7163). Not trying to stray off topic here too much but if anyone could chime in or PM me that would be appreciated. |

One big difference between those two, is that the 7163 is only(?) turbo in BW's lineup that uses a mixed flow turbine. That's what gives it such a great balance of power and response.

Sorry folks. I may have misspoken due to not paying enough attention
The 6258 is dimensionally smaller than the 6758/7163. The 7163 shares the same backing plate as the 6758. The only real difference is the MFT wheel and it protruding a few mm more into the compressor housing. The 6758 and 7163 should be the same in terms of external dimensions. In my case, the fitment issues associated with using a stock manifold were a bit less than using a modified Tomei or similar. In addition, ease of removal was paramount, and on a S14 chassis with Z32 BMC and associated metal brake lines, using a modified Tomei as I initially had meant it proved difficult to remove the entire assembly without bending, contorting, or potentially damaging an engine bay component. As it stood, with the stock manifold, the assembly was removed in an hour and five minutes start to finish. Either way, the 6758 will make a ton of power with T28 response on a stock S13 SR20DET. |

I ended up getting a 6758 for a good price and it's going in a RHD s14 so should have a bit more clearance with no brake booster/etc. To worry about. Thanks for the help looking to make 450+ with water/meth injection and a ported/honed OEM manifold/poncams
