World's Best Looking S14 SR20DET Valve cover **PICS**
I bought this S14 SR20DET valve cover a few years ago, and began a search to find the best chrome guy in Houston, TX. After dropping off a few pieces of metal to a few platers, I found the best guy and had him chrome dip a few parts including this SR valve cover, but before doing so, I had a welder weld on some AN bungs for use with a catch can I would later install. I also set forth to find a Tomei spark plug/ coil pack cover to also dip to make it all match. I bought it new from FRSport for $120 and then had it all dipped three times for the most perfect shine.
I never did install it on my motor, and it has been sitting for the better part of 4 years in a box that has been sitting in storage. There are ZERO scratches on it, and in my opinion, is the best looking S14 SR valve cover I've ever seen. It is not polished, it is not rattle canned, and it is not powdercoated. I paid damned good money to have this valve cover perfect and invested over $500 to get it to way it looks now. I am asking $300 shipped or best offer. Hopefully someone out there appreciates a good chrome job as much as I do as I feel the valve cover is the centerpiece of an engine bay, and is what catches most people's eyes first. If you are looking for that wow factor in your bay, this is most definitely it. Valve cover will include the crappy oil cap and Tomei spark plug cover but not the AN fittings you see in the photos. |

Whats so special about it - its been chrome dipped - this has been going on for along time - mainly with rims - is it chrome on the inside too - if so chrome cracks and starts to peel off = real bad inside a motor!!!

It's a little overboard, but the results speak for themselves. If you're looking for just a shiny valve cover, I'd say just polish it and be done, but if you want to make people drop panties the moment you open your hood, you too may take it a little farther like me. Either way, it's personal preference. |
