I'm getting a feeling that's what the trend is.
Wasn't there a thread on that S15? And didn't people call the builder stupid for converting his S15 to 4 lug just so he can fit 15's on his car Plenty of facepalms to go around here. |

they may be 15's, but they are running a muchlarger series tire.
I imagine that they get better feedback with that larger tire size and quicker off the line with a smaller/lighter rim.. Really though, they prolly just like the style. i do too. i really would like to see some more cars that arent all 2006 with large tucked works. need variety..... |

the whole idea behind the supermade s15 was to make a cheap and affordable demo car.
it has a very basic but nice s13 sr, converted 4 lug (for cheap tires and wheels) and not over the top aero and paint. personally i dig the small wheel look.

I dig this look too, seems beneficial for people who track/drift their cars and wants to save money on tires, on top of that it got the old school muscle look with meaty tires on older cars, which is the opposite of how hellaflush trend/style/movement is doing but both look good too

^ very nice!
The unfortunate side of doing this stance/look is if it pokes out too much it starts looking like those mexican style offset

I'm more curious how these cars drift than how they look.
Does any one have specs on the rim/tire setups?

big wheels mean less sidewall = less foldover or sidewall rollover, people call it different things
i wouldnt assume big wheels are worse for drifting. pros dont use them for style. |

strecthing tires helps drift, no? cause some look stretched and that means well, I will let someone who knows talk more about it.

In my opinion. It looks great on the older Z's S30/S130's, older skylines, Celica-Supra's, older RX7's SA/FB's etc.. but not on the newer S-Chassis.
