rim screws

so my buddy gave me a free set of rims. i took them to the powder coater to get them painted. the look like 2 piece rims cuz the have screws all the way around the inner by the lip but they are 1 piece's. so the guy calls me and says the screws are all plastic and i told him i would drill em out and replace with metal scews. does anyone know where i can pick up some of those screws from. i bought a 1/4x1/2 in hex button top but the screws just drop in. i also got a 8mm hex pin but it doesnt have a head to it and i know i have to tap and die to get the screws in. if i have to ill roll with all the screw insert things out. ill post pics upon request so everyone knows what im talkin about.

Lemme guess... The wheels are Sportmax/XXRs? Most people just leave the plastic screws out. Why bother spending the money for useless hardware on cheap one-piece cast wheels?

Seems like waaaay too much work just to put some screws in a wheel? (all for aesthetic purposes.)

Or I could reply with a cliche like.... "If you have to ask...."

The song was written about the Kray twins, that's why. If Kanye wanted crayfish, that one bitch would have shared her FIlet with him.

true but 1 of the teardrops that came on the car is so curb rashed from the previous owner id rather not use them. and hes not charging me to blast them, only for the paint and hes doing it realy cheap for me. its beats spending another 700-1000 on some new rims and tires, i just bought a set of rims for my honda not to long ago and i dont want to put some good rims on a convertible that can be easily stolen.

What? How is your convertible going to be easily stolen? Unless you leave the top down with the keys in it all the time it's just like any other car. Shit, buy a quick release and take the wheel out if you're that insecure. Also those wheels belong on a truck, if anything at all. You should NOT mount those on your 240. Rashed up stock tear drops are definitely better. Dude if you want new wheels, go to the junkyard and try to find a 99' or newer altima or sentra wheels. They have clean, oem 16 or 17's depending on what you find. Those things are pretty hideous.

ok well i didnt ask for the opinions of others on how the rims look. my post was if anyone knew where i might be able to find the plastic wheel inserts. so thanks for your opinion that i dont care about. and just because you have a wheel lock doesnt mean they wont take your car. a buddy of mine that works for nissan had his s14 stolen with a tow truck. if they want it bad enough they will have it.

Check the Stolen section.

Thieves normally go after ugly / shitty cars.

Your car is prime candidate.
