I've only had my Zenki for two years but I love it almost as much as the Evo I used to own. My younger brother found my 240 on Craigslist for $1000. A clean S14 SE with 130K, clean interior, leather, manual tranny, and all the service records in the glove box. All it needed was a rear brake caliper, suspension arms, wheel tire and shocks. Some of the parts my younger brother already had because he also owns a Zenki. This car runs like it only has 30K miles.

bought my s13 at 16 as a second car, still own it now at 23. I like the posts where guys say theyve had theirs for 5 or 6 years. i really do not like the posts where guys are saying they got into 240's a decade ago and theyre on 240 #11 now. It is kind of nuts to be proud of going through them like tissues next to a 13 year old boys bed.
These cars are getting harder and harder to find in good shape and im sure a big part of it is all the guys who are older now and have totaled or parted out 10 of them alone.

Bought my first and only coupe back in 2003 at 17 years old. I saved up and paid cash, paid my own insurance, and paid for all my own repairs. Did an Sr swap in 2005 and have been beating the hell out of it ever since. That little car has been the one thing I have to look forward to every day for the past 8 years.
Currently, it is getting a motor rebuild and some restoration work which is taking too long but I still love every minute of it. I drove an 86 Plymouth Reliant from 2004-2008 to save money, drove a 2008 Versa for a year then sold the versa to get a stock s13 hatch to drive, then picked up an 05 Jeep Grand Cherokee to have as a winter car, currently have the 2 S13's and the Jeep. I'll be 26 in 2 weeks btw. I think I'll always have an S13 in my life. |

I'm only 18 but I have the option VHS' and best motoring videos haha. Everything back then sounds better. I have buddies that are 40 yrs old and have been through it all and listening to them talk about it makes me wish I was a teen in the late 80's-early 90's

Just bought my first S14, well my first 240 in general, i am only 20 years old, my addiction to cars started with my 83' 280zx, my dad bought it for me when i turned 12, fixed it, sold it lol, but after that my second car was a 83 toyota celica supra p-type, man did i love that car, did a 7m-gte swap and all the good shizznit, sold it again. say in about eight years i have had an 83' 280zx, 83' toyota supra, 78' 280z that i still have, 83' toyota corolla, 91' 300zx, 95' nissan sentra se-r, 95' saab 9000 pushing 25 pounds of boost, still have that car as well, too bad i blew my tranny for the third time.
well just bought this 96' 240 for 450$ has 111,xxx miles, original owner, color is red and is the se model with black leather interior and yes, it is a 5 speed. |

I'm pretty much in the same boat as all the old heads here:
got my S13 in 03 when i was 16 or 17. Did the SR swap the following year and hve had that SR for years. I went to college a few years ago and havn't done much 240 stuff. Lately I started a new 240 project with a new shell. Some parts of my very first SR20 are going to be on this. Lets hope this forum continues to live the next decade!

Fuck that...if I could afford to get out of the 240 game right now, I would in a heart beat. The scene is just not what it used to be. Scene used to be alot more close knit and everybody looked out for one another. Now its just packed with bandwagonning, mad dorifto, ex honda tech members who brought their problems with them. I got into these cars because I'd like to go somewhere and have the car exactly where I left it. This forum didn't have a damn STOLEN Thread section until the damn drift scene blew the fuck up in 05.

i had an older screen name before this one, whatever it was. theres alot about the 240 world that i dont like (hellaflush and the impossibility to do something that hasnt been done by someone) but i still love the car so i figure it will eventually die back out. And ive had a bunch of 240s due to being in the military. ive has to sell a few when i moved places i couldnt take it with me. i had my first one for years.

I will say, screw the "scene" everyone talks about. I never got into these cars for that. I could careless, aside from the aforementioned subject, if anyone else owns one. It's a responsive RWD chassis that looks great; I was sold. Not everyone... A lot of the guys who have been on here that long have stopped posting or moved on. I don't post that often anymore.

On comments about the scene I can pretty much say the biggest problem is one that fliprayzins pointed out. You can't drive and park the cars anywhere anymore because some guy will spot it and A: try to steal it there or B: follow you home and try and steal it later. Quote:
Give it up guy.

16 when I got my S13 Piggy for 1k, turning 24 in 4 months and I can't see myself without the Mistress. I've contemplated selling it a couple of times but soon after changed my mind and bought something new to her She was just 13 when I set eyes on her o.0 soon she'll be turning 22, time flies by. LOL

I'm only 24, bought my first s-chassis at 21. That was car 31 for me.
I wasn't 'into' anything but classics until after I graduated high school. A co-worker's brother-in-law came down from CA to visit and he brought his s13. It actually looked like something out of F&F. lol. I liked the body style, but didn't know shit about it. Also didn't know anything about drifting until I got to Okinawa, but I like the car for it's lines, so I wanted to build one. I've had three now. Sold the first one to get the Mistress, junked the second one because I could get the paperwork for it, and the third is our track car.

Exactly. Same reason I pull the county sticker from my tag. and run evasive routes home. Hell, I might add 10mins and 10miles to my ride home if I spot a sketching looking car. It's crazy that it's got to be that way...
