I've never ran Godspeeds but I had Megans on one of my S14. It rode fairly nice on the streets and on the track. Not overly stiff but not soft either. DD is not too bad until you hit a pothole hehe.

I have godspeeds on my s14, they are the rs model. They ride ok, they do handle alright for the price but the ride is a little bumpy. As far as all the poeple backing up megan, they probably never rode godspeed and megans arent good either. Save the money and get stance or fortune auto. The only reason I got these was because I had heated springs and they scared the shit out of me and I found these coils cheap and thought I would try and see if they really were shit, which they arent. Dont expect a perfect coil, but they are good for the money and mine went pretty low. All in all most of the people talking shit on them dont know what they are talking about when it comes to deadly construction, but the the high spring rate and general mono tube design thats kind of a one size fits all theory is true. They arent that bad but they arent great, if you were closer id let you ride in mine.

My girl has Godspeeds on her coupe and they r terrible. Only 2k on them and the passenger side is clicking and clanking as if it's blown. I've riddin on megans and Godspeed and by far in my opinion the megans on godspeed

I had a set of godspeed, Isis, Megan, and fortune 500 coils. the Godspeeds blew in 2 months, Isis in 6, Megan never blew but i didn't like the ride very much. IMO if you are going to spend $800 on megans save a little more and get the fortune auto 500's off enjuku. I have had these for 4 months now and i have had no problems at all. Height adjustment is nice and the ride quality is good also. If you really cannot afford $1000 coils, DO NOT GET GODSPEED. At the very least get some kyb gr-2's and eibach sportlines. just my .02

Wow, the fortune coilovers really blew up fast, didn't they? LoL.
I think they look great, though . Enjuku sells them on the west coast and Import Image on the east Import Image Racing: Fortune Auto 500 Series Coilovers |

Enjuku Racing - Performance Parts and High Quality Fabrication and I'm pretty sure they sell worldwide, not necessarily just east/west coast. |

Youre wasting your money on either coilover. Yeah, the megans are probably leaps and bounds over the godspeeds. But youre still sacraficing a LOT of quality with them. If I were in the position to spend $500-700 on suspension, Id spend $300 on a DECENT set of struts and springs, and put the remainder towards saving for some QUALITY coilovers.
What good is a cheap coilover if it only lasts you 10k miles? Ive never had Megan coils, but I have had damn near everything else they make, and I have YET to be satisfied with a Megan racing part. They make GARBAGE! |

But like I said, in your situation, Id do what i gotta do to keep the car on the road, and continue saving for real coilovers. Even if you gotta get stock suspension, thats what I'd do. If you car is a drift car or you dont care about ride quality and just wanna go low, then get the cheapie coils. If ride quality matters, get struts and springs for now, and upgrade to quality coils later. Youre gonna spend $1000 on shitty ass megan coils that probably wont last a year, and will ride like shit while they do. Maybe its just me, but ive grown very tired of wasting money on Megans crap, and I have no problem publicly saying so. Cheap parts are cool, but QUALITY parts are cooler. If you can get quality for cheap, thats one thing- but MEGAN and Godspeed are not quality, and theyre not really that cheap. Ive done the whole knockoff parts bullshit. Theres ALWAYS a reason that their shit is so cheap. Their R&D sucks, their quality control sucks, and their products are totally hit or miss. Theres no consistency, and for me, that makes it too big of a risk to hand them a grand. I can handle getting their $150 tension rods and having them go bad in two months.. its only $150. If Im dropping a GRAND on something, I need to know its not gonna shit out in a few weeks, and NOTHING ive bought from Megan has ever given me that impression. You get what you pay for. With Megan, youre paying for crap. |

If your willing to spend 1k I would just get Part Shop Max coilovers. They are a good ride, great quality, replacement parts (if ever needed) are inexpensive, and if they are too stiff for you, you can get softer springs for like 60 bux or something. Just my .02

ugh...can we block/close all coilover question threads? or at least just about megans/godspeed
i got my cx racing coilovers and upper pillow mounts for a total of $600 dampen really well, go as low as i could want, and have aggressive spring rates(12/10) would i buy them again if i had the same amount of cash-yes would i buy them again if i had 2k--not a chance i just have something against godspeed and megan for whatever reason but either way i knew i was cheaping out and would probably regret it later-so far they are holding up to daily/drift use if you want something cheap and worth a shit try here http://www.jdmhookup.com/product.cfm/SUSPENSION /cool story |
