epic build-86 acura legend.

i had one of these as my first car and came across this thing when looking at buying another. the stock chassis itself may not be anything special, but under the circumstances this guys shit is bonkers.

cliff notes, guys son loved the ist gen legend and passed away. guy decides to build a drag car as a tribute/continuing legacy in memory of him. a s/c'd 3.0 nsx engined, caged 1st gen acura legend. all work done by him and his wife afaik. started with like half a crank and no dtc's first time.
let this be clear, THIS IS THE GUYS FIRST BUILD! -

quoted from build post -"well this is actualy my first and I believe my last, one of the reasons this project is taking so long is that, no experience doing this type of work, I am a good mechanic but never being involved in high performance work my only ability which helps deal with my lack of experience is that i'm really good teaching my self through books, pics, internet ana any other info I can get."

so, without further bullshitting, heres the guys rig. a 1st gen acura legend with a comptech s/c'd 3.0 nsx engine in it. rediculous first build and quality

makes me want another really bad. or.... the 2nd gen legend could be made rwd fairly easy i think also. its engine sits in a rwd format, it has a tranny tunnel and as far as i know there was an awd version, so theres splined rear hubs out there somewhere. get like a 350z trans have a custom bellhousing made. bang nsx engined rwd dope ass legend.
you could vip the hell out of them too.

can you imagine one of these rwd with a nsx engine, sick as hell! man pipe dreams are fun arent they?

Wow the Honda six cylinder sounds worse than Honda four cylinders.

Still, lots of time, effort and money. I'd drive it!

cressida would have more potential than that legend chassis.. seriously, and it would be better for drag since its a more typical RWD setup.

but i guess this is ok, it gets to be the hero car of every legend owner out there to dream about but will never accomplish lol.

fab really didnt seem all that hard, its just that the typical legend enthusiast is very different than the typical 240 enthusiast. we are generally more willing to cut and hack, weld and do more in depth stuff, where as the typical legend owner is young learning, and looking for a nice looking car, or older and looking for a nice daily.

but yea, the 2nd gen legend was actually the testing bed for the nsx beleive it or not. even weirder the c series block started as a 150 hp 2.5 in the 86 legend and ended up as a 290 hp 3.2 in a nsx. odd but cool. you could also get 2.0 turbo v6's in the 1st gen.
