From the Land of the Purple Rain - MN Drift Build
Well figured I finally have made enough progress to start a build thread and clutter things up on here.
Purchased this car a little over a year ago in this condition...95' Nissan 240sx SE w/ s13 sr20det I'll admit I'm not the biggest fan of the kit and the rims but I figured I had them, so I would rock them. Car need a few fixes before the coming spring so I sent it out for paint and got this back. . . Turned out that the paint manufacture had a defect in the paint which caused it to look like shit, so now I get a free respray this winter. Bought another 240sx before spring came that I had planned on building to start drifting in but, decided I was gonna use this thing, which was probably one of my best decisions. Car definateley needed spacers because the offset on the rims where nasty. Well Elko #3 was nearing and I felt I should sign up and get in on the action, with a little pressure for some buddies (Dorf2, Laxrider, and Bunta) we got are shit together and headed out to my first event and pretty much first time sliding the car. Since that I participated in the rest of the Elko's and Raceway events and had a blast. Few more pics of events. . . Here are a few clips from my first year drifting Well after this season I found that a lot of the shit on my car can change, I needed to get rid of a lot of stuff and make a ton of upgrades. So on to the Build Thread Started tearing her down, deleting the AC (yep this car had the sr20 with a complete AC system completely installed), plan is to do a complete suspension upgrade, everything from coils, control arms, to subframe. Some pics.. Plan on tubing the front end of my car so I started to relocate my fuse box, shit that's a lot of work. Glad I labeled them Used the stock fuse box still, and will be mounting it here This is where I am right now, gotta extend the wires to the lower harness, fan, alternator, and starter Oh yeah and I picked these bitches up Plan to run this car next year scrapping the ground, caged, and ready to slide. Zenki lip is staying on her, I'm going back to the slammed stock look with maybe kouki sideskirts if I come across a good pair.
I have been trying to force myself to accept that that is just a risk with drifting and that its a good possibility that she will hit something at some point. But for now I'm going to enjoy its dent less appearance |

Sup guys, small update, but a lil
progress (somewhat). Had to get rid of one of the parts cars so we took the last of the wiring and the subframe out and loaded it up for scrap. Was about the only way we could think of to get her onto the trailer. Started cutting out my wheel wells for tubing . . Started taking my SR apart and one of the exhaust studs snapped so I guess I get to spend more on the motor then I was expecting. Last edited by Nissansota240; 12-08-2011 at 06:03 PM.. |

Another update,
Spent another day in the shop working on the car. . . Started figuring out the tubs, still got a lot more work to do on them though Also since I don't have AC anymore I also took the coil out from under the dash so that I can cover up the holes in the engine bay and also just to get rid of things that are not being used anymore. A few other pics from today. . . Some of the wiring that I have to fix from the first owners attempt And so here is where I sit tonight about to start cleaning up the harness. |

Quick little update, I've been ridiculously busy at work lately so I haven't had time to really work on the car as much as I wanted to. Did this little bit of work about a month a go and hope to have it finished up by the end of this coming weekend. (fingers crossed)
Does anyone got any good recommendations for bondo/filler type material to use for shaving the needless holes in the engine bay, that can stand engine heat and oil/gas pretty good? Should have more pics after this weekend.

Finally got some time to do some work this weekend. Chris (buntaMN) and I finally finished welding in the tubs at about 2am on Sunday morning. Just need to do some grinding and filler to make it look sweet.

Tubs are done, covered in some primer till I figure out what color I want to paint my engine bay. Also finally got my roof spoiler that I've been waiting for since the beginning of the year. Now I'm just gonna be buying more parts and waiting till it gets back from paint. :green: |
