redtop slight overheating problem
its now summer and here in vegas with an easy 110 degrees.
my car is starting to have a slight overheating problem. used to be able to run vegas drift courses all day without a problem. now it just overheats after one run. during daily driving after a while, the temp gauge will peak at half way, sometimes climb and then drop. i'm running 2x 12inch electric fans and 3inch aluminum radiator. i already changed the thermostat and pressure cap. im running 50/50 mix with water wetter. still has fluxes in temperature. i know the temp sensor isn't giving false readings cause my coolant boils into the overflow sometimes. i dunno what else to look for. does the system need to be bled?? could unaligned banjo fittings on the coolant lines on the turbo cause this? (pulled the turbo once) |

i understand that much about the stock clutch fan and shroud, but what doesn't make sense is that i never had this problem before.
i ran a vegas drift even in February during the day at 90+ degrees and it didn't overheat. then i ran an event last month at night which was like 90 also and i would over heat after one run. |

well, it didnt run this hot before, so i figured 10w40 would be good enough. i check the oil at least twice a week. im thinkin of takin it to tire works and gettin a good flush and system pressure check. only 20 bucks. and i guess i'll check the banjo fitting before then too.
