Sometimes short anime series are better imo.

the anime is up to 227. just a filler showing how rukia got to be the reaper of kurakara town and abarai renji getting promoted to vice captain. fillers suck ass. they need to get back to the fight.

Ichigo's bankai ain't shit. But that fight was epicness. Even more than the Grimjoww fight.

I'd prefer to see it animated first because it's more suspenseful with the music and all, but I have to read the manga just to know what's filler and what ain't so I can stop watching when that bullshit comes on tv....

And so far, none of the younger generation on the show know Ichigo's dad is a shinigami...

I don't like how that got handled. I wanted the despair to sink in for at least an issue or two before these guys popped back up. But look at Kensei! It's like he's thinking "Ooooh.... It's payback time, Bitches!" lol

I still don't see any of them taking down Aizen. Ichigo, either. Uruhara needs to handle him.

but actually ichigo's dad was once a captain. which squad is still not known. what time frame is also unknown. but looks like uruhara knows old dude.

what makes these fillers particularly worse is that when they do go back to the seires it'll be ichigo vs ulquiorra, the wait is gonna be torture.

when ichigo's dad made an appearance as a shinigami to save ichigo i nearly shit myself. I knew his dad had to be somewhat related to spiritual powers but I never thought he'd save ichigo's ass like that. Seems like ichigo's bankai isn't improving at all. He may get an upper hand with his hollow mask but even then its still weak. IMHO. Stupid filler. Waste of my hdd space.

I stopped watching when Ichigo had to protect that "Princess" girl. It seemed like the fillers were over right before that then they immediately went to more BS. I watched like 3 of those princess episodes and got upset and haven't watched since.

Anyone know if it's any better yet or what episode I should start back up on?

I hated this shit... untill my gf made me watch an episode. then i watched from episode one to current in less than a month! (currently unemployed lol) this is addicting, now im pissed cause i have to wat a week to see a new one and then its a damn filler! unitll next week!

Finally a series filler worth waiting for? Bleach 230 is the first episode in the "Zanpakuto Unknown Tales" arc. We get to see each sword materialized into sub-human forms, like Ichigo's Zangetsu, and this is what will make this filler arc worth my time.

What I LOVED is the guy leading the revolution is named after Muramasa, a familiar swordsmith in Japanese history, whose legend is his swords have bloodlust that must be sufficed every time when drawn, even if it means turning the sword against it's own master. Great metaphor!

The whole episode went fast I had to watch it again. I wanted to know who's who and all these new characters were poppin up all at once! I matched each shown spirit to their respective owners.

Now all this goodness does come at a price. The bad news is that this filler arc will last around 40 episodes. Which means the big battle between Ichigo and Ulquiorra will not be shown until probably next year.
