$100 Hydro Ebrake how to

Ok guys i allways wanted a hydro ebrake for my s14.5 but i never got around to it. Heres some somewhat detailed instructions on the setup. It is really easy, and only takes about an hour.

First call up CNCbrakes.com and order the "staging brake" for disc brakes. $95

Then find a mounting point.

Then make a mounting bracket.

Mount it up.

Now find the hard line that goes to your rear brakes.

Dissconect the line from the rear, and bend it up to the front of the staging brake. Now go to auto zone and buy a 5ft hard brake line. Hook this up to the rear brake valve, and bend the other end up to the exit of the staging brake.

Bleed the system and you are done. Total cost $100. Gangster value: Priceless.

Krustin: Sorry no. just bend everything without kinking stuff so the fluid flow is not restricted.

Go240: Nope eliminated that, and the cables to save weight, the fd ebrake is crap in comparison to a 240 so i dont need it at all.

Just so you guys know it literally takes 1/10th the effort to lock the rears with this setup, a 5 year old could lock em up at 100mph.

Yay!!!
I like fog.....

So, I have a stupid question: Can you still park on a hill with a setup like this or is this race car only gear?

You kill speed very fast and more than likely you'll spin out if you dont know what you're doing. Only time i would think of doing that is if you came into a corner too hot and you needed a lot of speed scrubbed off very quickly to hit the apex right. You've gotta do it right though otherwise you'll kill too much speed too quickly and end up looking like a complete tool. hahaha

To stay on topic, hydraulic set up looks good. Nice job!

It will not effect the bias, but it will not allow any more pressure applied to the rears. It will not change the pedal feel either.

Nice work, Your car is coming along nicely. Now I'm interested in this brake system... My only gripe is your lever should be a dildo shift knob!

i'm diggin the "bail bonds" key chain lanyard...

i'm glad you decided pull type in THAT location, rather than push type where the handbrake was.

Please elaborate a bit more on how the lines are to be run. Your description is quite vague. Some sort of diagram would be awesome. Thanks!

nice writeup... very informative. Yea a diagram or something would be nice.

Just to clarify, if i wanted to retain the stock cable ebrake i could correct? and does the handle brake effect the feel or braking power of the rest of the brake system?

again, good write-up and install ...really clean
