IT does look sweet but i agree with that the paddle shift just takes something away from the car. Id rather have manual, but what the hell ive never even driven a padlle shift so i guess my opinion doesnt count hat much..lol

werd. New roofline looks ten times better than the rounded out g35,350z plain jane roofline.

But who cares about roofline. I wanna drive it~

Damn, those are huge exhausts for a production car. I still like the look of the older roof-line better, that kink in the c-pillar looks awkward and I don't like how high the top of the windshield is. Also, it really doesn't look anything like a G35, so I don't know what you people are complaining about. It looks almost exactly like the last concept they showed, I'm impressed that they aren't dumbing it down for production.

I also think it looks way better than the R34. I never liked the R34, it was lumpy and badly proportioned. The greenhouse was too small for the rest of the body, the rear fenders were ridiculously large and tall, and the rear end looked rather cheap. Only the front looked good.

OMG! Someone whilling to admit they ain't swinging from R34's nuts just cause it's an R34! I agree and think the R33 and R32 are better looing cars.

if you guys want to take a shot at guessing where the new roof line came from look no further than the Ken Mary GTR from the 70's. I would hazard a guess they were looking at all the old Skylines and trying to incorporate design cues from across the generations.
Look at the 350z and you see the same styling approach. It has touches of the S30 combined with touches of the z32 to come up with a design that crosses them and enters another area while staying true to heritage. You all may feel it does not look like a GTR, based on the whole race coupe styling of the last generations of the R series. Though fact is Skyline GTR's have been through many design changes over the years. If you look at it carefully you see Ken Mary, you see R series derivative style front Facia and rear end. Its not bad and of course its not going to please everyone, chassis design changes rarely do. For the people that diss, your lost on the fact that at least its back and we are going to get it!! Its a step in the right direction for Nissan to make this car finally the world car it should have always been IMHO.

Ya but S15's are dead in the water Scott. Until Nissan officially re-releases the Silvia(which is actually in the works in Japan) We will not see another car in the Silvia/SX lineage.

Yea, it will be a 250sx if they even go with that nomenclature. Remember that the 240sx was not exactly successfull on US soil. Though a small RWD model may be in the works (see Urge concept for reference), I don't see them going with the SX name again. I keep my fingers crossed that Nissan will build another car along these lines. It would be so choice.

I'd love to see a real sivia make it to the US... I know the S15 is "dead" but if nissan released them here for like a limited time (Like only 2,000 cars or something) I'd buy one in a heart beat. Even if they put infiniti badges on it. It's not like they styling is outdated or anything.. The only thing that might have to get changed to make it look like every other new car is but LED tailights on there..(Last time i checked or saw one it didn't look like it had LED tails or course I've only seen them in daylight). I'm so in love with that car...

I'm so in love with that car...
well this has been covered on numerous occasions in the past but I will reiterate for the newer members sake. S series chassis's cannot be built nor will they be built anymore for two reasons. At the end the S15 was not a successful car for Nissan in Japan. It was to expensive for what it was. So it did not sell well. Two: The S series factory assembly line no longer exists. In typical Japanese fashion once Nissan ended the series a few years back they disassembled that particular assembly as it was actually an outdated assembly line.
There was not enough popularity at the end of the series line to even think of bringing them back nostalgia wise. Plus we are talking about Japan not the U.S. Japanese very much think along the lines of replacing stuff every 5 years anyways. They want new stuff not yesterdays news.
Add to that there are so many 180sx's on used lots in Japan for cheap if someone really wants a S series chassis they can get them dirt cheap.

Well whatever case the next basemodel rwd car they offer will be a far supperior successor to the 240sx. Double wishbone reigns supreme!
