Since facebook updated it's albums, all of my links to my photos are now broken. I will update them in the next few days to get the pictures back.
I was able to get my 240 moved to from my old shop to my parents for now and the motor and trans brought down to Alabama. Last time at the shop in Tennessee: Chillin at my parents house with some tires: It's a little dusty... I'm picking up a truck here in the next month or so and a trailer shortly after that. Then I can bring the car down here and start making progress again.

How did you go with the sump you were getting built? I'm in New Zealand doing a similar swap into a sedan S13 so I'm going to have the same issue. Any chance you could make up another one?

I was having a flange cut for me but the machine shop disappeared with my oil pan. I'm moving the car to my new shop this weekend and progress will pick up again. I may need to get another oil pan. When i do I'll mock something up.

Thanks guys. Sadly, there won't be any major updates before new years, only small ones here and there.. but after new years big updates should come... I'll keep you all posted.

So since facebook updated it deleted the album I had with all of my photos for the swap. So I had to re-upload all of them. So I'll post them all in this post so you can see all the progress I have made up to date.
After about six years drifting with a fairly stock KA, I decided it was time for a change. I was always interested in the VK56 and wanted to put one in my 240. One day I got a hook up on a 2006 Flex Fuel VK56 and decided to do it. I had to send the old KA off properly: Smokey shop... Then I parked it to get ready for the swap KA pulled: BIG motor First test fit... only hits all of the things KA Valve man protecing my car from big scary motor Then I ordered a 370Z 6 Speed, clutch, flywheel and adapter plate from NEO's Garage: Put it all together: Test fit with trans to find the round adapter plate made for a square peg round hole situation: So... I cut the adapter plate with my handy dandy plasma cutter: Then test fit to find the oil pan still is in the way: So I decided to get a custom flange cut at a local machinist (who later disappeared with my oil pan...) so I can make my own oil pan. I pulled the pan off and tried a test fit: Like a glove... Shift Location was good, but extention on the shift linkage was too long... So I got the bright idea to cut and re-weld the shift linkage but welded it on 90 degrees out because I'm smart like that... I need to re-weld it again and rotate it 90 Degrees then I can use a short extension that should put the shifter in a pretty good location. Random picture of the motor and car with my new TIG welder and plasma cutter: Then I got ahold of a powersteering pump and wanted to see how it fit... turns out it won't without notching the frame. So I decided to go with an electric powersteering pump instead. Early on I had thoughts of going cheap ITBs from a hyabusa Since then I have graduated college, moved to a different state, changed shops and been crazy busy starting my real life. Luckily it seems thing will start to stabilize here in the next few months and I should start being able to get back to this project and I can't wait! The new job has opened up a lot of new possibilities for this build and I'm excited to see how they play out. So stay tuned, I know it's slow but it will be worth it!
