anyway, i was dremeling on my seat brackets last night (thanks kenny), and i got little metal shards stuck in my hands. doesn't really hurt but it's annoying as hell. will they come out by themselves after a while? |

the magnets work but if you don't do it soon enough it can hurt like hell i had a piece come out in a CT scan hurt like hell cus it had been in there for like a month or two
you can pick them out with tweezers or try the magnet anything that dosent come out with a strong magnet probably wont come out anyways

i tried tweezers and i could only get like the 5 biggest ones. now i see red dots all over my hands, mostly the fingers. i guess that's the body noticing that foreign material is there. i'll see if i can find a magnet when i get home.

I believe that material embedded in the skin, usually over time, festers out. You just have to wash your hands frequently to protect against infection.

well, lets hope it doesnt find its way into your blood stream. In the worst case scenario, the tiny metal shards get into your heart and start cutting up things in there, of course your body will be able to heal those cuts, but then scabs will forms from within. Over time, those scabs will fall off and be pumped with your blood into various parts of your body. If one of those scabs happen to find their way into your brain and accidentally clogs one of your blood vessels, it basically casue you to have a stroke.... but then again, thats a worst case scenario........ I'm sure you'll be fine!

Try soaking your hands in water w/ Epsom salt in it. You'll have to do it a few times, but it should help draw out the shards. Once you can see them, pull them out with tweezers.
