I live in one of the most economically depressed areas of the country with the lowest cost of living, lowest paying jobs, blah, blah, blah, and I regularly see corvettes rolling around even my little town. I NEVER EVER, EVER see an NSX! I couldn't ever buy a corvette, there's just nothing "special" about them.

When looking to buy an NSX, you don't buy it for the power. You buy it for the status, rarity, and general head tuner the car is when its set up right. I owned one for two years, bought when I was 23, and sold when I was 25. Biggest maintenance item for repair would be the timing belt water pump change which is $1500 at a dealer every 70k-7years, and thats about it. The car is and always will be super reliable for instance: 1991 NSX Berlina Black/Ivory $17.9k JH4NA1150MT001459 - NSX Prime
Even driving a stock NSX, you still appreciate how amazing the car is when you take it into the turns. When you start with tuning it (turbo or SC) it becomes quite mind blowing...I have driven a 550hp turbo NSX and it's just a unbelievable sensation...OEM NSX parts are not all that expensive. But the fact that the aftermarket community is so small and limited, the prices for tuning and aftermarket parts does have a high tag. For all those that think the NSX is not all that great of a car, you obviously do not follow the RedLine Time Attack Series in america, FXMD NSX is on top. If you are really interested in the car, research research research, and nsxprime.com is the sole source of everything NSX related. As to why I sold mine? It sat in my garage 90% of the year. I drove the car all of about 1800 miles for the 2 years of owning it. I was always afraid of people dinging it up, scratching the paint, and so on....owning the car seemed stressful for me lol, I sometimes feel like I owned the car for my friends or people I told, rather than myself. Some pics of my old baby. 91 NSX with 02-05 front and rear conversion, stacey sideskirts, I/H/E, Tein Coils, and some Work 11r's And if you got the money! SOS 3.5l All Motor ITB For the SEXXXXXXX |

Lol at the guy who said corvette are strait line cars, you dumb fuck
I know a zr1 is not a regular vett. But that zr1 gave the GTR a nice ass smack around a tight track. And I hate everything American. Only reason they made the zr1 was to compete with the GTR. Then it lost. So they came out with the 2012 GTR with 530hp and 0-60 in 2.7-2.9 seconds. Cars is just a game for companies And to OP. I also live in Cali, I work in a pretty rich city compared to where I live. I mean they have their own airport. I see Ferraris and lambos drive by. Raced out STIs and a fd with a lsX swap. But there is something about that silver NSX that I see once every blue moons. It's a rarity. If you have the bread I say go for it. It's like a type-r dc. People buy as a cole for item. And in stock form it's a great car if not the best fwd to come out of Japan |

They're great cars.
Still not worth what people ask for them, IMO.

The NSX is a sexy beast. I'll eventually own an early flip light edition preferably a '91. As far as I'm concerned it gets super car status.
And BTW though the engine designations are similar Legend (C32A) NSX (C32B) the engines are quite different. I own a Legend, the first to be twin turbo'd successfully. I've done extensive research on both engines. If you want more power you can turbo or supercharge it but like it was already stated you don't buy the NSX because you want a HP monster. And c'mon, it just looks so much sexier than a corvette. The purchase price I can understand but parts are still unnecessarily expensive.

I won't argue the NSX wasn't an amazing car for it's day, and I suppose if you compare it to contemporaries then it could be considered a super car... but let's be real, there were plenty of cars around that time which walked all over it.
You're buying it for baller status. If you wanted to track it, you'd do what everyone is recommending and pop for a Vette. As much as I hate GM, if you just want performance that's a hard one to beat. In my mind, the NSX is a compromise car between status and enthusiast. If that's what you want, get it. If you really wanted 90's era "bargain supercar" you'd be looking at a Viper I'd think. |

the corvette is and will always be an iconic american muscle car. they make GREAT power, even in stock form, handle exceptionally well. having riden in multiple fast corvettes in the time that i was working at a shop that specialized in turboing LS engines. they can handle a boat load of power on stock internals. upwards of 800hp, more can be had with the 5.3/4.8L. they're cheap to maintain, easy to work on, cheap to buy. hell you can find a 5.3l l33 aluminum block/head in a junk yard for 600 bucks. i would rather have a z06 over a nsx any day. for their potential, cheaper to modify, cheaper to maintain, and just overall better car.

nobody likes older cars anymore?? hell i still like z32 and 3000gt despite those cars not being ideally lightweight.. hell I still like the first gen porsche boxster (i think those can be sweet cars, not as easy to make hp, but the mid engine setup handles really nice).. Speed kills, but you could still mod one up nicely.
NSX was a childhood dream car for me, why not own one? I like vettes too btw, best american performance car to all you vette haters who can't really back up why you hate them.

It's not an amazing car by today's standards, they're not even great value since they hold their price really well, but I still love them. To me there's certain cars like the NSX that I'll look at because they are "enthusiast" cars, even though I'm sure a lot of posers own them as well. Cars like NSX, FD, BMW M Coupe, MB 190e Cosworth, Audi Quattro.
NSX owners really have to want it where every other poser out there goes for Ferrari/Porsche/Aston etc. I don't even turn my head to look at those cars anymore. Well, maybe Ferrari if it's a 599. |

I enjoy the styling, power delivery, interior materials and the aftermarket support for the NSX. I foresee one or two in my life within the next five to ten years.

and the reason for your troll post is? Seriously dude we were having a discussion about the NSX and is it a Supercar and is it a Supercar worth owning for 25k .
Oh ya you have a hard on for NSX's and have to put everything else down because of it. Fail on your part. Are you that afraid of the GTR that you have to post that? It will in fact trounce the NSX regardless of looks. If you all have to contribute is the meme well then just don't post. Go Troll somewhere else.

C5 Z06 for president. I've driven an NSX, and while I enjoyed the ride I wouldn't rate it much 'better' then a 370z...in fact I'd take the new Z sooner just due to the broader powerband.

The trolls are the ones who keep talking about Corvettes or whatever other cars.
The gentleman who started this thread wants to know about NSX. Not everyone desires a car purely for performance. I am not sure where this need to have the fastest car available is coming from. Most highway speed limits are only around 70mph. And people who preach about taking one's car to the track as if nothing else matters are the most annoying bunch of them all. I would sooner drive a generic econo-sedan than have to spend any time around them at 'the track.' I want an old Lotus Esprit, even though they kind of suck. |

I mean if he had said something about a Vette his post may have been a bit more valid. Give me a fucking break. Are YOU Serious? LOL All of sudden NSX trolls show up here talking shit and we cannot say anything. Dude really your argument is weak. Quote:
Trying to make yourself look good by calling the OP a gentleman? That's riding a nutsack. J/k Matej its been a long time since you opened yourself for a post like this. LOL Anyways seriously dude he did ask for opinions people saying they like the Vette is not trolling. Nothing wrong with wanting a car, but when someone asks for opinions? ya expect them.

Anywho, in the grand scheme of things, the only people who even remotely consider NSX's as supercars are forum dorks. Track guys, and true gear heads know better.
