I believe it's a fuel damper to stabilize fuel pressure in the rail. I threw mine in the trash, but you should definitely get an adjustable fpr.

make sure u get a good gauge.. seen a few motors blow because of crappy fuel pressure gauges

i'm just so confused on how it mounts up..

will that work? and will i need to purchase some type of gauge for it, i see some people rocking the gauge in their engine bay, i guess i would do that..

i have never really delt with a AFPR setup, so excuse my questions.. lol

yup it will work, looks like you will also need the fittings and gauge. All of this will mount in the bay unless you split everything up.

Anyone know where I can get the PINs/wires or harness connections to pin up my ecu. Im running a 01 IS300 ecu since my engine is a GE. I have the pinout but dont have the harness connection to E5, E6, E7 (or E4, E3, E2) depending on what diagram you look at.

Don't know if anyoen else runs it but I got a MapECU 3 about a week ago; once my car gets tuned i'll give you guys some feedback on who well it works. So far I've heard good things; If anyones interested on how a 4' straightpipe sounds in a 2j 240 I'll have a vid up in the next few weeks so hopefully it'll help someone else out.

IIRC 35-40 ft was the length of hose people used with a couple feet to spare.
Damn the pump is tiny. Now if they would come out with an E85 unit that would be awesome.

That sounds about right. I'm about to jump into cleaning up my fuel setup as well -6an single feed and return w/stock rail will try and post some pics when I'm done.

Really? I would say its maybe roughly about 12-14 ft one way depending on how you route it. So that would be about 25-30 ft for a single feed & return setup and since your doing dual feed add another 12-14 ft. Your looking at about 40 ft to be safe.

For dual feed ill be using a "Y" fitting somewhere near the firewall

True. I forgot to think about those. So it would be about 10-12 ft single feed, then split, then about 2 ft maybe for the rest of each feed line, and finally another 12-14 ft return. So still about 30 feet? Note that I am just spit balling here the best thing you could do is just take the time and measure it out

Thoughts on buying an automatic 1jz and then picking up a r154 seperate?


Are the harnesses/ecu's different between the auto and manual 1j? I plan to run a wiring specialties harness, so im more interested in the ecu.

If you can get one with it within your budget, that's the best option. If you can't you can find an R154 from an MK3 Supra, but you'll spend $500 probably, then still need to get a 1JZ bellhousing ($300), then get a flywheel ($220), then flywheel bolts and bellhosuing bolts, not to mention a clutch kit (but I'd assume you'd get a new clutch regardless of how you obtain the transmission).

So thats atleast $1000, if not more to source a R154 trans set up, when you could just put that on a motorset that may already come with one.

The problem is finding a 1j anywhere in the US from a reputable seller right now. EVERYONE is out of stock or only has auto's right now.

Id be replacing the clutch and flywheel regardless.

As far as the tranny goes, id be looking to pick up a soarer r154 off of ebay as well so I do not need a shifter extension.


Also it seems like auto 1j's may have less of a chance of being beat upon arrival? Not sure if theyre anything as bad as SR's regarding finding a clean motor.

So debating on vvti or non vvti 1jz. It seems like buying a non vvti 1j with r154 on it already will be cheaper than getting an auto vvti and everything to get the tranny on there all to make the same power? pretty much going to push motor to its limits so if anyone has any ball park guesses on how far one can take each motor that would be appreciated. for example would spending more for the vvti be beneficial strength wise? motor wont be beaten on but will be driven spiritedly lol. def going 67mm+ single 1000cc injectors and supporting parts on a d-jetro ecu etc lemme know thanks!

Question for people running koyo radiator with slim puller fans, I have flexalite 420 and I can't get them to fit the radiator correctly.. Let alone between engine/radiator. I do not want to cut to core support and already cut the water pump stub off with some of the studs.. Any help appreciated
