Of all the automotive 'renovation' shows, I think PMR is the best:

-- It's short but doesn't feel overly short.
-- They do very creative, almost absurd, $hit.
-- WCC and Xhibit have lots of personality and enthusiasm.
-- The victim actually appreciates the work done to their vehicle.

Compare the worst episode of PMR to the best episodes of the following shows:

-- Full Throttle (Twins Turbo need to stick to building cars).
-- Overhaulin' (The Foose and snooze hour).
-- Tuner Transformation (They did a 240sx coupe last season. Zzzzzzzz).

Todd
90 Coupe
93 Coupe (hOoKt uP: Hunter Safety Orange paintjob, Neon underbody kit, APC aluminum wing, Glow-in-the-dark gas pedal, illuminated shift knob, roof scoop, WRX hood scoop, 'Spreewell' spinner chrome hubcaps, CF hood sticker, interfooler, electronic BOV ... NOT!)

I like WCC maybe not some of the cars. But as long as the people are thankful and love what is done its cool. Some of the cars I like some dont but atleast thay dont half ass them. Have the feeling if the WCC was given a clue of how the s13 should be done it whould be done nice. Just the guy wanted it that way thats how he is going to get it.

HAHA! naw i dont think that's the case. If there's one thing i notcied is that PMR spares no expense. They will definitely dish out for expensive parts..as long as they make a visual difference. They will probably spend the most on body kit , rims and paint cause they makes the biggest difference and they naturally cost more,(duh) but i dont know how much they'll put into suspension. . As long as they kill the wheel gap..lol. i love that show.

I don't think PMR pays for most of the stuff they put on the car. I'm betting that most of those types of shows get sponsors for the equipment they use in return for good old fashioned product placement. Whoever is willing to give them stuff is what ends up on the car... within reason..

MTV will have to cover all costs or else the show wont happen. Mav said MTV approached him for the rims. Maybe 5-Zigen would be okay with sponsoring them, maybe not. If not and that's what the kid wants, wouldnt MTV have to pay. Yes. or they'd have to go wit de Giobani whills wit de pirelli tires

Here's the difference between PMR and Overhaulin. On Overhaulin, they do comprehensive, quality body work, new wheels, refinish the entire interior, AND do engine work (half the time putting in a brand new crate motor) AND install brand new Hotchkis or Air Ride suspension. I saw one episode of PMR and decided it was a complete waste of time. They redid some chick's 30 yr old firebird. After they were done, the trunk was half filled with stereo equipment, the other half was filled with a clothing steamer so she could iron her clothes on the side of the road. Best of all, it had a freakin cappucino maker in the armrest! I mean, Goddamn that is AWESOME!!! "Sure, it only runs on 3 cylinders, drinks two quarts of oil a week, and has to be push-started, but look at dem purty, shiny wheels!!" And when it throws a rod, you can make some coffee while waiting for the tow truck. Every car they do should come with an AAA membership.

With any luck, the kids 240 will be tastefully done like this example from the first season:
