Wondering how to properly remove a/c and p/s
Just wanted to keep it simple and ask how to remove ac lines? Remove pressure/refrigerant? And the same goes for the p/s? Do I plug the high and low pressure lines into the rack and pinion? And I still run the reservoir? Any help is appreciated

Ac removal is easy (a little more difficult if you have ABS). It's mostly a matter of following the lines are removing everything. Here is a write up:
S13 A/C Removal Writeup : 240sx General Discussion I haven't removed power steering since I can't live without it but if I am not mistaken you can potentially ruin your steering rack. |

A non assisted steering rack uses some fluid to lubricate. A power assisted steering rack use the steering fluid to cool and lubricate. You cant juste remove the pump and the lines to depower it. One way to do it is to disassemble it completely, make holes in the piston, reassemble then fill with fluid and loop each side line together. This way you still have lubrication and relatively lower efforts due to the piston being drilled.
Best way would be to use a non assisted rack though. |
