AiM MXL Digital Dashes

Digital dashes don't just look cool, they're designed to instantly give you the maximum amount of vital data at a quick glance, with alarm/warning lights for letting you know something's wrong, and all the more detailed information nested away but easily accessible.

We get asked what our favorites are all the time, and for the vast majority of customers, the AiM MXL Strada and Pista offer unbelievable bang-for-the-buck, and almost any feature you'd want in your track/competition or high-end street car.

Here's a link to our website page for AiM MXL dashes with some additional info, feel free to purchase through that or
give us a call at 626-472-6360 or email at [email protected]
AiM Sports MXL Digital Dash - Strada, Pista, Pro 2005
Basic breakdown of the units:
  • MXL Strada - the basics - Lap and split times, RPM (numerical and bar graph), Gear Position, Odometers, 8 analog sensor inputs (no additional modules to buy, e.g. Racepak), 1 wheel speed input, 128kb memory, blue backlit display, 6 fully-configurable alarm LEDs, 10 fully-configurable shift LEDs.
    - $1,085 -
  • MXL Pista - the most popular model - all Strada features, plus accelerometer (G-sensor) with track mapping, 8MB memory, USB-downloadable logging to Race Studio software
    - $1,890 -
  • MXL Pro 2005 - the baller - all Pista features, plus 2x Autosport connectors, 12 total analog inputs, 4 total wheelspeed inputs, 16MB memory.
    - $2835 -

Frequently Asked Questions:
What do I need to install these?
If you have a compatible standalone (all AEMs, LS2+ GM PCM's, list of others here), it's a 4-wire hookup - power, ground, and serial/CAN data high and low. If not, or for anything else that's not on the CAN/serial bus, you can use the analog and digital inputs on the dash. If you need senders, we can give you those, or you can tap into your existing ones for anything reading voltage (pressures, TPS, etc).

As far as mounting the unit, you can get the baller carbon fiber surround that a lot of the race guys use for <$200, or you can mount it to a panel yourself, it's super easy and straight-forward.

How does the dash connect to my computer?
The dash comes with a USB cable that plugs into the side/back of the dash. Most of the time people run this through a hole in the dash or velcro it up so that when you need to connect to download a log or whatever, it's right there.

Is this better than a Racepak?
The Racepak products are all designed to work together as a 'system', and if you don't own a bunch of V-NET stuff, you end up having to buy a lot of duplicate senders/control units. The AiM uses standard analog and digital inputs (no V-NET-type serial interface for little things like fuel level or whatever), which makes it a little easier for me to recommend, as well as install/use. Pricing is very similar, and they even look similar, but not having to buy multiple $200+ modules is nice.

Do you have to pay for the software or future updates?
Nope, just like you don't have to pay to wire in senders you already have, you don't ever have to pay for software or firmware updates. AiM posts it all to their web site and you can download/install to your heart's content.

As always, if you have questions, post 'em up or PM/email us. We love the AiM products, which makes 'em easy to sell and support.

Sorry to bump an old thread, im in the middle of a vqswap. The factory chassis/dash harness was toast. So im hooking up an arc relay/switch board. My vq is an 05 and doesnt have a can hook up, however i do have obd2. Do any of the sensors require factory harness hook ups? Do you think ill run into any other issues?
