How to remove spindle joint??

I need to pop this out to replace the a-arm.. How the hell do I pop this thing off?? I tried prying it from the stud/nut... is there a special tool i need? Im too lazy to remove the driveshaft for more access to it.

I just did that yesterday. Get a BFH and hit directly to the side of the LCA.

Ball joint remover.

Or hit the side of the bolt with a hammer.

Pickel fork will tear the boot, causing the grease to leak out. Using a hammer will crown the threads and make the nut impossible to go back on.

Use a proper ball joint tool.

you could be under there hammering at the LCA for hours and not get any results. just go to AutoZone and rent a Ball Joint Remover Tool...that thing will slide out like butter!

Its FREE, you just have to put a deposit down and youll get it back after you return the tool.

Hit the part of the spindle that holds the ball joint in while prying the lca down. Don't hit it too hard. I had to do the same thing, and nothing else would work until my friend got there and tapped the spindle, itll flex the hole and it should pop out easily.

i wouldnt hit anything considering autozone or your local parts store has ample amounts of tools to do the job...as stated above, get a ball joint remover...thats what its for. if for some reason you decide not to, get a puller. worked very well with very minimal amount of effort...
