The guy i bought my car from broke the key in the driver side door, and i was wondering is there a way for me to take out the broken piece w/o having to call the lock smith?? Is there a technique to pull the key out or is there a way to take out the cylinder and open it and push the key out. Any help would be appreciated.

Remove the door handle. Remove cylinder from the handle. See what you can do with it out of the door. Pretty self explanatory.

Its not hard to remove the whole handle, pull it out and hit the back with a hammer and if that doesnt work then use a pick

Sounds like speculations to me.

Remove the door handle. Disassemble the locking mechanism and the broken piece may be removed from the lock cylinder with a tweezer.
