If I got a black one it would be a emo z.
I kinda dig the PS that Daniel did but it looks kinda like a Scion TC with the colors like that. |

Sneak Peek: Nissan Exposes Future Z Car
Date posted: 04-29-2008 CASCAIS, Portugal — Taking a page from Mazda R&D, Nissan's top designer hung a "sculpture" today on the wall of a meeting room at the company's Nissan 360 global product review: a sculpture that hints at the design of the next-generation Nissan Z. When Mazda did it in the 1980s at its North American design studio in Irvine, the joke was that the sculpture was really a life-size copy of the hood and driver-side fender of a top-secret car sports car that everyone was speculating about. The Mazda Miata was finally put into production almost two years after designer Tom Matano and his team hung their "sculpture," and he laughed for years as he gleefully recounted how hundreds of vendors and automotive journalists had visited the R&D facility without ever noticing that the secret roadster they were obsessing over had been hanging there in plain sight all that time. Nissan Design Chief Shiro Nakamura wasn't as secretive as Matano — he blatantly pointed out his wall hanging to a group of 80 North American automotive journalists gathered in the hotel meeting room in this costal resort town about 17 miles west of Lisbon. It represented, he said, a new Nissan that people would be seeing more of in the fall. With that clue as a starter, the wall most of us had ignored during an hour-long reception before Nakamura gave his pre-dinner speech took on new dimensions — three dimensions, to be exact. Despite the opaque fabric covering that blurred and softened the shape, it quickly became apparent that the car he was hinting at was, in all likelihood, the new Z due next year. Nakamura also showed off a crimson red design study that he said contained elements of future design treatments for Nissan's upscale Infiniti division.

I think they look two big. Like the hole profile is just going to be wheels and wells.

it looks like they are returning to the 240Z look judging by the top view. The roof slops down then tapers in to the back, looks pretty sweet except for the big triangular hump in the back.

If you fixed the headlights the rest of the car is not bad. Once again I have the feeling this car will not look right till we actually see a rolling production model. This same shit went on before the 350z was released and before we saw production versions of the GTR.

I just realized how the headlights resemble Wakabas...sort of.
Anyways yeah I agree on the G37. Thought they were ugly at first (still like the G35 styling more) but I've seen a few in real life and they've grown on me. I walked around a white one at the mall and while the rear (tails and chrome strip) still bug me, they're not bad overall. I've also seen a few with aftermarket wheels and a drop and they look a helluva lot better. |

Hmm, I wonder if people are gonna start doing conversions on them. It looks like all you'd need to change is the headlights and fender, and you can use the previous front end.

front bumper looks very unrefined. imho, it doesn't look all that different to the current model at all. I get the impression as if someone ordered some mismatched after-market headlights and a tacky front bumper. doesn't flow with the rest of the lines of the car. It's not offensive looking, but it does seem unfinished and rather dull. I really hope this is not the final product.
Perhaps the technical improvements will be more noteworthy than the aesthetics. Would be nice to have the attesa as an option. |

of course it isn't the final product. why do people always take these artist renderings as something more than just that- artist renderings.
as for the nissan "sculpture" i'll bet that thats actually the sucessor to the 240sx, not the 370z. There have been rumors of the z's wheelbase shortening, but i don't think they will go that short with it. I think that shortened 350z test mule running around was actually the new 240sx in 350z clothing.
