the funniest part of owning a 240sx is the way we have to research and look for different companies that makes products for our cars... i dont know about you all but sometimes it is fun to have to dig for reviews and who actually makes and sells them.... unlike honda, 240sx parts are not widely advertised....
i know it was fun for me when i had to try to find out does each company makes stuff... would you all like to start like a 240sx bible? like, i could make a webpage that list all the stocks, springs, turbos, camber kits, intakes, and whatever for the 240sx and the different generations? i already started for my 240sx, 89-90 SOHC model... then i'll do DOHC and S14 after? |

West is exactly right, I think 240sx drivers tend to have a bit more class <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> Ive never even seen a riced out 240.
Ive seen on excellent sylvia conversion in Tampa. I wish that I would run into that guy on this forum sometime <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('> Somebody posted a link to that beaterz sight last week and I didnt see a single 240sx on there. |

There will always be those off the wall people that will put racing stripes on 240sx and try to do rice their cars, they honestly don know better. Thats when you just say wow, he must think he drives a honda. Go ask that person about the car. I guarantee they will say the car has a "V4" or even a V6, not a Inline 4 engine, they probably don't even know its RWD. But how often do you honestly see those kind of 240's? Hmmm...sad part is every 240SX I have seen that has been modified around here has been ricey, either with a HUGE wing, gay body kit, or dif wheels, or a HUGE banner on their windsheild. But the difference is you know when you see a 240SX with class and elegant styling, and you know when you see a punk ass that needs a 50 lb wing to help them plant all that power from their intake and exhaust.
Most rice on a 240SX is caused by the small availiblilty of qulity parts for the 240sx. If you want quality I hope you have done your homework. |

the 240sx bible is a good idea. can we see what you've done so far?
of the ricey 240sx's i've seen, they aren't as bad as hondas, but they're still bad. well, lets just say one of them is a ricey honda boy at heart, that happened to come across a automatic 240sx with a fart muffler (i hate him, always talking trash). the girl, i won't comment on. but the third one, is a gold s14 with a black stripe going down it, and it says "Skyline". it has a big wing on the back. would this be rice? front bumper- Nismo Style
side skirts (unknown what kind) no back body cuz i think the ones they make are ugly N1 exhuast, intake, new either silver or blue paint.... with teardrop factory rims and a touring spoiler on an S13, also lowed 1.75 (springs not cut springs) i dont plan to put stickers and if i did it would be little ones... yeah some of my friends who dont know much about cars, are all about ricing it.... they wanna start a car club/group (just a group of friends hanging out, nothing like those real car clubs) they wanna put big ass team stickers... with big ass spoilers.... and GOD, we do have alot of neon lights inside that dance (including me, but i shut if off when i am driving)... and most of them drive hondas... well it is not bad cuz we have 3 brand new S2000, all with less than 1000 miles on them.... but i represent Nissan and all of them know my SOHC is pretty quick and i can drive alot better than them... |

The Reno area has only one riced s13 that I know of, ugly ass lime green with a huge double wing on the back and fart tip. No stickers that I could see (stuck in traffic, couldn't catch up). I find it sad when people destroy an already beautiful car.
My own car looks stock (and is, for now), except for some godawful ugly pinstriping the dealership put on. Anybody know a safe way to pull that off without hurting the paint? |

drifterx, nope that wont be ricey. But get a rear bumper PLEASE. thats the one thing I hate about all 240sx is that the bumper looks of from the rest of the body. Its just to rounded.
Jeff, Not all banners are ugly as long as they arent 1' long and yellow on a green car. Same color is "ok" IMO, just as long as they are not MASSIVE. |

Yeah, I hate those pinstripes. I've got them on mine too. I'm going to wait till I get a paint job done before pulling them off, cuz I know that the rest of the car must have faded at least a little.

I don't think paint fade is a big issue at the moment, I've had this car only since April, and the dealership I bought it at probably put them on to draw attention away from a dent on the rear fender.
These are the pinstripes: <a href="indigo.wox.org/~indigo/car2.jpg" target='_blank'>indigo.wox.org/~indigo/car2.jpg</a> <a href="indigo.wox.org/~indigo/car4.jpg" target='_blank'>indigo.wox.org/~indigo/car4.jpg</a> Keep em 'till I repaint or ditch em? |
