so i removed my emblems over the weekend. if anyone needs any advice on how or what products to use, just ask. Here's my problem. The nissan emblems (front and back) left 2 holes in the hood and taillights. What should I do? Fill them up and repaint it ($500), get silvia emblems ($150), or take my nissan emblems and repaint them flat black ($20)? Any other options?

I say spray paint the exsisting one's. Were they black to begin with? If they were chrome use chrome spray paint, you would be surprised how good that stuff works.

they're chrome. i just like the idea of going around stealth. one hour after removing the emblems, i went out to the clubs, and a girl stopped me to talk about my car, cause she had no idea what it was.
but... $500 might be too much to spend (to repaint my hood and bumper). |

If you wanted to fill the holes your self you could put some kind of flat surface on the other side of the hood. and put filler in the holes. Let it dry, sand it, prime it, put tape around the edge and paint it. I've never done this myself so don't take my word for it. Or you could stop at the priming stage and let a pro paint it. And btw would you really have to have the whole hood painted for those two holes? I'm not sure.

WAIT! Better yet, get a vinyl sticker with your engine number on it. Like (ka24e). Just stick it over the holes. No repainting, and silly people won't know what it refers to. They'll think, oh cool, a new car! <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

That's what that stands for? Huh.... didn't know that.
Personally, I'd fill the holes and see what type of job I could do with touchup paint. If you're really good and you leave a little indentation where the filler is, you might be able to make a decent match. |

People have recommended using Goo Off for removing the leftover glue after taking off the emblems. Where do I find that stuff? So far I've looked in supermarkets and Home Depot and didn't find any.

Try Ace Hardware....or a local mom&pop lumber type store. |

on the inside of your hood... put tape to cover the whole (did this to my spoiler holes) then buy some touch up paint to match your car. get a pin (like a plastic pin you write with) if the wholes are small get one of those platic pins that are one solid piece and pull out the tip and ink stick thing.. and stick the tip in the whole and poor (SLOWLY) A SMALL BIT OF PAINT thru the other in of the pin... when it drys then poor on more to fill it in the rest of the way once you get it full and it has that little dome shape to it lay a piece of tape over it to flatten it out... my trunk came out great... and you can hardly tell there was ever 7 wholes there.. heh yea 7 i had a big heavy GT-R rip off spoiler

i literally ripped off that emblem from the dealer when i got my car because it looked stupid - i hate unneccary stuff. I just use lighter fluid. you just squirt it on the glue and rub with a cloth. whatever you use make sure you wax everything when your gone

well, i can't really do any painting on the rear cause the emblem is on the lights. maybe i'll just fill the holes with some clear putty.
btw, the stuff i used to remove the goo was called 3M adhesive remover. works great, but kinda expensive. $38 cdn |
