Preventing 'Auto-Unlock' When Engine Shuts Off
1995 s14 SR20DET notch top
Turbo timer keeps the car running, car shuts off, and the doors unlock themselves, so if the timer runs then i have to stay with the car/close to it until it shuts off so i can lock it. I removed the little metal rods from the power locks to prevent the car from unlocking itself when the car shuts off, but of course now my remote doesn't unlock the doors (exactly like manual locks) Is there any way to bypass this 'auto unlock' mechanism so the car will stay locked when the engine shuts off, without losing ability to use my remote? say, running the wire on the door locks to an independent circuit from the engine? Maybe its only me but I'm getting a error page when I search Zilvia. Google didn't seem to help with this either If someone could help point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. Want to make sure its possible before pulling out diagrams and hacking away at shit. |

what type of system exactly?
stereo? alpine head unit, fronts and tweeters thats it. no bass at all haha. dont see how that could interfere. alarm? previous owner had a carbine in it. Still have the power remote, and it works, but I'm just not sure how to go about bypassing the connection that turns it off without causing other issues. Not too familiar with alarms/electrical other than killswtiches. I cannot find any other evidence of the alarm on the car other than the remote for the locks and the power locks themselves. |

He was talking about an alarm or the remote lock system. Look up that Carbine system and see if you can bypass the unlock on that because its nothing stock doing the unlocking.

And you might not need to bypass it. Sometimes it's a optional thing. You should do some research on that system. |

Thanks for the quick replies.
The alarm is no longer in the car, only the remote power locks are left. the alarm is gone. Its just the power locks with the carbine remote. looked up manual, but it doesn't really help as I cannot access the features that require button combos from the remote and such. No trace of a car alarm other than the locks/remote, (didn't even know it had an alarm in the past, until I went to nissan and asked them if they made em lol thought that was and optional upgrade) i can press panic all day and nothing will happen. only functional buttons on the remote are lock and unlock. Since its not a stock feature in 240's and i no longer have any type 'brain' for the alarm, id presume there's a relay connecting the locks with the ignition/timer causing this? again thanks for the help so far, when it comes to electrical I like to know what im up agains before messing with too much, haha kinda sleepy idk if that made sense |

Then your next step is to track down what is accepting that remote signal. There has to be a receiver in there somewhere for it even if the regular alarm is gone.
