95 stock KA dying while driven
Hey all, new to the forum tried searching but couldn’t really find anything about my specific issue so here goes.
I started noticing some hesitation in the car when driving on the highway, wasn’t terrible but seemed to get progressively worse over a short amount of time. At this point the car will start to sputter and die out after it runs for a little bit, but it is quite random There is a knock sensor code (and a transmission code that my mechanic friend said wouldn’t cause my issue) the car will start and run perfectly, but will randomly start shutting off once warm, if I pull over and don’t touch the gas it will idle it is a little rough but if I give it gas it will die and doesn’t want to start for a little bit. Once it cools down a little (5 to 10 minutes) it runs perfect again. The maf is new as well as distributor, the cap and rotor the fuel pressure is exactly where it should be and doesn’t drop as it is sputtering and dying out. It isn’t over heating either someonne suggested it could be a bad ecu but I don’t really wanna throw parts at it and pray. When I changed the maf it ran perfect for about 4 days then started again. Any thoughts from people experienced with this engine or this issue would be helpful |

Tested the fuel pressure while it was acting up and at idle it was about 35 psi and went up to 45 psi when given gas. I tested the spark when on the side of the road and sent a video to my mechanic buddy an he said the spark wasn’t right. I probably should have included this info above sorry

Well after a lot of searching, trouble shooting following the FSM. I tested every sensor that could cause any of the issues. I had multiple codes for various sensors as well changed all of them and eventually lost spark, at the end found out it was a bad ECU. Not sure if I even needed to change the things I did but car is running perfectly at the moment.
